Pretty Purple Cheshire Cat Card

This is my card for Craft Roulette #260
The challenge parameters were:
Project-An envelope
Colors-toys
Element-Children's story
Random-List
I made my card look like an envelope with the patterned papers slanted into a V. The patterned paper has the Cheshire Cat in it, which would account for the toys' colors and the children's story element. The list is seen when you open the card to reveal "My favorite things..." Look at the photo below.
The card was for my nephew, and he really liked it.

This second card was for the bonus gallery. It has the look of an envelope, same colors as above, the children's story is in my kid's cabinet, and the list of Happy Birthday stickers.

Craft Roulette #260 color combo. We are doing a side color challenge along with the chosen color parameter because the color parameter can be very loosely interpreted. It's been said that they will allow it as long as you can justify it.

Overlapping Hearts Stamped in a row

The patterned paper is by  Deja Views. The vellum sentiment is by Quick Quotes, and I adhered it with a Xyron sticker maker. The heart stamp is unknown.  I added pearls by Couture Creations and sequins by Fun Stampers Journey.
It was by accident that I stumbled onto this design. It’s not a new, original, or even cre8ive design, but it’s not what I was trying to do.

I was auditioning different shades of pink ink with a different heart stamp onto white cardstock. I couldn’t find the right pink or red color for yesterday's card, and so I thought maybe if I stamped one heart on top of the other, I would get the color that I was trying to match. I’m looking to match the patterned paper. But then I quickly realized that you can’t do that with rubber stamps on a wooden block. They end up kind of halfway on top of each other. Tada, this stamped border design was put together and then changed up for this card. So that’s what I thought of when I first came up with this idea.

Labour Of Love Card

I’m still working on getting images that have been  abandoned and left in a drawer. I want to get them out and onto some cards. These blue panels on the outside were made when I was involved with the powdered chalk company.  It looks as though something else was added to the chalk but it has been so long that I am not sure. The pattern paper are scraps from a friend. The vellum sentiment is from Quick quotes. Thanks for looking.

25th Wedding anniversary card

The card base is by The Paper Studio. The happy sentiment is by Lawn Fawn. The white rim tag in the center is by Stampin Up.  The 25 is from a frame that my in-laws had hanging in their home with their 25th-anniversary picture. The vellum sentiment is from Quick Quotes and I use a Xyron Sticker Maker to adhere the vellum. The word anniversary and the champagne glasses that are on the inside of the card are cut out using my Cricut.

Quilted Thank you cards

The October Afternoon patterned paper is perfect for thank you cards for my Mom's funeral. She sewed her whole life and this pattern reminds me of a quilt pattern.
The brown patterned paper is by Creative Memories and the sentiment stamp is by Clearly Besotted. I inked the edges of both.
The flowers are from my stash and brads by The Paper Studio.

This second one, the center patterned paper is also by October Afternoon and the green paper on the right is by Making Memories. The punch is by Stampin' Up. The vellum sentiment is by Quick Quotes. The flower and brad are from my stash.

Best Dream Ever Cards

The ATC theme for last month was dream and I dream of the beach. The umbrella stamp is from my stash. After I stamped it in black, I colored it in with a Creative Memories pen (gold) and *** (aqua). I stamped the word "Dream" (Fiskars) in black and wrote the words "Best" and "Ever" with the same pens.

The vellum sentiment on three of the cards is by Quick Quotes. The bubbles stamps on three of them are by Deep Red Stamps.

The real seashell on this card is from Florida but the die cut is from my stash.

The sand castle is by Lawn Fawn and tthe silver dollar sticker is by Mrs. Grossman's.

Friend Masterpiece Card

I love this background stamp by Hero Arts. I've used it on two other posts: Best Wishes and Friend and I'll have another won to share coming up in the next few months.

For my card I stamped the background with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder on watercolor cardstock by Strathmore. I colored the images in with Peerless watercolors and a water pen by Ranger. The sentiment is vellum by Quick Quotes. I die cut the vellum with a Spellbinders die before I ran it through my Xyron sticker maker to adhere to the card front.

Very simple but anything more would make it look cluttered. I will say it took a while to color in that background, which made me not want to do anything more to it.

Thanks for coming by and checking out my new card.

Bouquet Card

Today's card uses stamps by Taylored Expressions. The water color paper is by Strathmore. I heat embossed the bouquet with Versa Mark ink and silver embossing powder by Stampendous. I used Peerless watercolors to color in the image and then used a Lawn Fawn die cut to cut it out. The background papers are by  Studio G and the hexagon paper is by Quick Quotes. I stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts black ink on the patterned paper and looking back on the card I should have stamped it on a lighter paper.

Deep Red Stamps Friends Card

Today's card was published in April's Scrap and Stamp Arts Magazine. I love today's card so much that I hope you do too.

I stamp the sentiment with bird stamp by Deep Red Stamps with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. I took some Fantasticks and colored it the areas you see below and love the results. It was at this time that I realized that the rest of the image needed to be inked to be better visualized. So I applied the Pumice Stone distress ink with a ink blending tool to darken the cardstock. It did just that and I was happy with the way the distress ink left a halo effect around the two parts. I think the white space is a beautiful exaggeration of the bird and the flower to the right.

Once the image was dry I matted it onto a piece of Die Cuts with a View purple cardstock. The patterned paper is by Quick Quotes and it also has been matted onto a piece of purple cardstock. The card itself is a little bit bigger with a width of 6 inches by 4.25 inches.

This Deep Red Stamps can be purchased at the Deep Red Stamps online store.

Manly Monday Dinosaur Birthday Boy

Today's card features a dinosaur stamp by Deep Red Stamps which you can find at
or
I stamped the dino with Hero Arts black ink onto Strathmore watercolor paper and used Peerless watercolors to color him in. I decided to fussy cut him out leaving a little edge around the outside. Thedie cut he is on is a stitched rounded rectangle die by Lawn Fawn out of kraft cardstock by Oriental Trading Co. The patterned paper is by Cherry Arte, the green cardstock is a scrap from my stash {I think it was by CM} and the vellum sentiment is by Quick Quotes.

Manly Monday Make a Buck Wish

Today's card features a buck stamp by Deep Red Stamps and can be found at

or

I stamped him out onto Strathmore watercolor paper with black ink by Hero Arts and colored him in wit h Peerless watercolors and water with a water pen by Ranger Industries. After he dried I cut him down to this rectangle and matted him onto some patterned paper by Recollections. The background paper is by Cosmo Cricket and the vellum sentiment is by Quick Quotes. The sentiment didn't stretch the entire corner and I didn't like the edges of the vellum showing so I covered them with leaves. The leaves are punches by CM and then the little one is Marvy

Welcome back to Manly Monday. Click on the blog title above the clip to be directed to the masculine card.

Just a Perfect Day

I'm doing my final Flashback Friday image for Sassy Studio Designs today. This polka dot bikini Sassy will be at a lower cost then the regular digi's but only for one week. So hurry and get yours before the week is up.

I colored her in with Copic markers and fussy cut her out. The grey background paper is by Quick Quotes and the yellow patterned paper is by Crate Papers. There is a piece of yellow vellum over the patterned paper behind the body of Sassy but I'm not sure who it is by. The sun is a chipboad piece by Maya Road that I painted with yellow acrylic paint by Pebbles. I punched out a small circle out of Die Cuts with a View yellow glitter paper and adhered it behind the sun. The sentiment sticker is by Three Bugs in a Rug. I'm not sure about the wave stickers or the ribbon. They have both been in my stash for a long time.

Mermaid Card

Today's card is kind of fun a beach themed. The mermaid stamp is by Inkadinkado and I have inked it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with platinum embossing powder by Ranger Industries. Then I brought in some Smooch Ink by Clearsnap to color the image in. I cut her out into a square and matted her on to the scallop square die cut by Spellbinders with Quick Quotes patterned paper. I also die cut a piece of blue fun foam with the same scallop square die cut to give it some dimension. The sort of background paper is by K and Co, the helm is die cut from my Cricut and Life's a Beach cartridge and finally the little sentiment square under the helm is by Quick Quotes. I forgot to say the card base is pre-made by recollections.

Cousins 2013

Here again with another layout for my Christmas card book. I don't even feel like I'm making a dent in it but I'll keep plugging away it and hopefully I can feel more accomplished by the end of the next week.

This layout follows a sketch from Sketches in Thyme, which you can see below. The patterned paper, hay chipboard and all cardstock in the layout are by Recollections. The green and blue larger elements were cut out by my Cricut and the cartridge was Art Philosophy by CTMH. The alphabet letters are die cuts by what use to be Quickutz. The sparkle circle stickers are by Foreveer in Time and the vellum sentiments are by Quick Quotes. The smaller circles at the top are Spellbinders dies.
