Manly Monday Frigate

My card today features a large Dreamweaver Stencil called Frigate. I spread Dreamweaver Stencils white embossing paste over the stencil and set aside to let dry. I then placed the stencil back over the embossed area and brought in color with distress inks and an ink blending tool. I masked off the areas where I didn't want that particular color with Post It notes. Then to get the smaller areas of color in the image I used Inkssentials Cut N Dry pen nibs by Ranger with darker distress ink.

The rest of my card has patterned paper by Rusty Pickle. Ribbon by May Arts and sentiment sticker by Three Bugs in a Rug. The fancy compass is a die cut from the Cricut cartridge Wall Decor and More. It was a freebie cut of the week on Cricut Craft Room that I was able to take advantage of.

Welcome back to this week's edition of Manly Monday. I hope you will take a moment and check out the cards by other crafters and leave them some love. There's only a couple today but they are fabulous. Click on the blog title above the clip of their card to be directed to the masculine card. And also if you like what you see here I would love for you to become a follower of my blog. Thank you.

Memories Layout

I'm making a book for a graduating senior, boy, which is due in June. Endless hours of time have been put into these books-1 turned into 3 to keep the books under two inches thick. I think anymore then that and it's too much to take in and the books get worn down so easily. Michael's had a sale and I thought it was the best route to go.

For today's layout I used the color combo Blue-Green-Yellow from the challenge at Mark's Finest Papers. I did stamp the names that appear next to the appropriate picture. The placement of the photos was a very scientific formula of hide the shapes that were already cut out of the paper. The polka dot paper is by Rusty something-they are no longer in business-just had a thought Rusty Pickle maybe. The blue cardstock is by Doodlebug and the white is the paper in the pages before you add your layouts. Yeah I'm thrifty like that-I was going to say cheap but thrifty or using the paper is part of my green effort towards the world. *grin*.

The rest of the cardstock that I used n the die cut is by Recollections. The die cut is cut out using the Cricut however I don't remember the cartridge. Sorry. I stamped the kids' names with a Lawn Fawn alphabet set and black ink by Hero Arts.

Thanks for looking.

Halloween Cards

Today I am featuring some new Halloween stamps by Robyn's Fetish. These are just two of the bunch that she just came out with. On this first one I used patterned paper from Best Creations and Rusty Pickle. The stamped letters are by Sizzix, die cuts by Spellbinders and the image is colored in using Copic markers. Go easy on me. I don't practice like I should. This thing called a job gets in my way of becoming a master coloring artist. hehe
The orange paper is the paper that you find in a picture frame. It was glossy so applied alcohol inks to it and stamped the cobwebs on top of that. I sewed around the edge of the card and then distressed the edges to make it have a scary feel to it. That's only because my sewing job was super scary and needed......to be distressed. We will leave it at that.
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

This second card is I used Glossy Accents on the Copic colored letters. The two pieces of twill by Karen Foster remind me of the two front teeth you carve out of your pumpkin. It's a stretch but just go with me on it. The witch hat paper is unknown but the green is by Echo Park and the orange by DCWV. The ribbon is by Little Yellow Bicycle, die cut by Spellbinders and the punch is by Martha.
