Manly Monday Tree silhouette die cut

The tree background die is by Dreamweaver Stencils. The yellow background was made using distress oxide. The bottom edge is made up of border punches just 2 layers to make it look fuller. After I added the tree die to the background I dry embossed it with an embossing folder by The Paper studio at Hobby Lobby. I added distress oxide over the whole thing before added a upcycled thank you tag.
I’m entering this card into the thank you challenge at Simon Says Stamp. And Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Thank you 😊

This card was made with a piece of basic gray patterned paper and a piece of copper metallic paper that has texture. The sentiment is by Bo Bunny, and the brad is by Creative Imagination.

The background paper is by Accord Publishing. This time I colored the die cut with a Copic Markers. I cut the edge thin so that it would sit inside the frame of the patterned paper.

The background inside the frame was made with distress ink. I tried to make it look like a the shadows of the tree trunks. I ripped a piece of paper on the bottom edge of the tree and made it look like dirt. Hopefully it did.

Thanks for looking and reading my long post.

Best Wishes stenciling technique

I used a Momenta stencil and a Scrapbooking Made Simple leaf stencil with Distress Oxide inks. I inked the stencils in the normal way. Then I sprayed the leftover ink on the stencil with water and squished it over the top.
I reused a floral image, except I added Perfect Pearls on the pedals. I found the sentiment in Cricut Design Space, and instead of cutting it out, I used my markers to write it out. Then I punched it out with a circle punch.

Thanks for looking.

Floral Friday Paper Pieced Sunflower Sympathy Card

The sunflower background die is from Scrapbooking Made Simple. I used a host of old patterned papers by Provo Craft to paper piece the petals back into the die. The center of the flower is brown flock by Inkadinkado.
Then, sigh, I matted the flower die panel onto another piece of patterned paper from that same paper pad. Well…it was crooked and for some reason I thought that I could straighten it out making the same marginal frame around the edges using pinking shears. It didn’t. SMH! I decided to make the whole thing look uneven by trimming the edges in different areas and ways. I made it look like it was supposed to be distressed.
The card base is from Current. I inked the edges so it wouldn’t stick out and compete with the white sentiment label. The sentiment is by Stampendous and it’s cut out with a Spellbinders die.
Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday Square background card

I made this background with leftover squares from my Accordion cards. I inked the background with distress ink. Then, the white frame was made with Stampendous dies. The sentiment is from a store-bought card. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Calendar scrapbook layout Fall upcycled

I can’t find the original layout these things came from but here they are now. The background patterned paper is from…I’ll have to check. The patterned paper in the center is by Recollections. The other papers are dark red and green paper from my stash. The embellishments are from Recollections. Thanks for looking at the Sept 2022 calendar layout .

Ice Cream 🍦 cards

The background stamp is by Fun Stampers Journey. I inked it in separate colors and rolled the rubber stamp in all different areas. I then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist.
The ice cream stamp is by Avery Elle. I colored it in with Copic markers before cutting the image out very close to the edge. I took a marker around the edges to give it shape.
The ribbon is by Stampin Up. The oval die cut is by Spellbinders. The sentiment is by Stampendous.

Second card is a fun fold that gave me a hard time. I put things on up side down…twice.

Moving on. The pink patterned paper is a recycled card by American Greetings. The ice cream was created in the same way as the first card. The die cut is also by Spellbinders but I inked the paper while it was in the die. The sent is from the same stamp set Avery Elle. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday a Shark and Seaweed Cards

The green mulberry paper has been frayed on the edges. I stamped the Deep Red Stamps sentiment onto white cardstock. Then I added some Cricut wave die cuts on the left card a then I added some waves from the pattern on a Kleenex box to the card on the right. The seaweed stamps and matching dies are unknown.

Manly Monday Pirate Cards

This card was made for Craft Roulette #256 and I had enough pieces to make a second one. The parameters were a 5 x 7 card, hippie colors, the element was an island and random wood.
The part above is straightforward. Except for the island is more of a figurative meaning the treasure chest made of wood is on an island. I put brown distress ink under the treasure chest to represent the beach that you would find on an island. The fun part about this card is the wavy paper was a graduation open house invitation. I hate throwing those things away. It was nice to use this one for a card.
I made the boat with my Cricut.
Supplies: the stamps are by Close to My Heart. I colored in the images with Copic markers. The sparkly bits are by Fun Journey Stampers.

This one has similar elements except for the key on the bottom is unknown. It’s pretty bulky and will probably require extra postage. Even with it, I fear that the key will come off when it goes through the mail.
The fun thing about this card is what was behind it…

It's also an upcycled piece of paper that was an advertisement I received in the mail. I used it for the backside and covered up my address.
Thanks for looking.

Floral Friday Heart Border Celebrate card

This is the first card I made overlapping the heart stamp border. It goes with the other anniversary cards. But I don’t love this version of the card as much as the others. It’s a nice card for someone. It’s just not my favorite.
The side panels are from a store-bought card. The sentiment die cut is by Sizzix. The heart rhinestones, which I don’t care for, are by The Paper Studio. Embellishing cards is awkward for me. It never looks…right. Anyway, the ink that I used on the heart stamp is by Stampin Up.

Cricut Drawn Christmas Tree Upcycled Card

Every month a friend and I make Christmas cards. We call it 5on5: the goal is to make 5 Christmas cards on the fifth of every month at 5:00 PM. Each month we have a theme and  February’s theme was to reuse, recycle, or repurpose. Which brings me to this card that
I received this 3 years ago. It had a noticeable smudge of green ink in the upper left corner. It
took this long to figure out what I could do to the Cricut pen on the
I tried a white gel pen, which made the green ink smear more. To make it not look as though I’m covering up a mistake, I would have to go around each area just like it smear the green and cover it with a white gel pen.
This is what I have to say about that white gel pen wasn’t very consistent so I bought some off of Amazon that are amazing.

Anyway, the flaw needed to be covered up with something solid. I pulled out these not rhinestones or gems or enamel dots. Nope, none of those. They are a product by Imaginisce. You heat set them to your project with this tiny little thing that applies heat. They match the green marker used on the tree. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Fold Out Christmas Tree Farm Card

I made this card for Craft Roulette #239 the parameters were to make an interactive card with picnic colors, farm elements, and strips of paper.
I’m not sure what this card fold is called but I am obsessed with it. It’s so easy to score and it looks like a rock star. The first picture shows what it looks like when you take it out of the cart. You don’t even see the trees on the outside until you open it up. I love that when you do open it up you have a full 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 view that stands up for display.
My picnic color is green. My farm is a Christmas tree farm and I have 2 strips of silver Sizzix mirror paper on the insides. I had a hard time getting the two darkest colored trees to fold in so you wouldn’t see them until the card was opened.
The front of the card is a Cricut draw, and I did it with a glitter marker. The middle Christmas   tree is from a store bought card, but the other trees were cut with my Cricut. The star top are from a corner punch that is made of stars. The perfect little size for things like this. I drew the tree trunks on with colored pencils and Copic markers.

Best Fishes in squares card

I made this card for Craft Roulette #225
Parameters
Project: A2
Colors: tea party
Element: house pet
Random: stripes
And I thought the random was the packaging.
No silly. That was last week.
Anyway…this is the tea cup color inspiration

And when you look at the two sided by side it looks weird but when you look at just the picture above it makes more sense.

The first thing is I used this teacup as my color palette. It’s hard to tell but I really did take the colors as my inspiration from the tea cut
The stamps I’m using are by Lawn Fawn I colored them with Copic markers.
Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday Shark Bite card

This Deep Red Stamp sentiment makes me giggle. The seaweed stamps and mulberry paper are unknown.
Let me ask you a question. Have you ever noticed the designs on Kleenex boxes? Some of them have better designs than patterned paper.
Well, I cut a part of a design on a Kleenex box to look like waves. I popped one up with foam squares so I had a place for my seaweed stamps.
I made this card for Craft Roulette #226 and the parameters were:
Project-see thru (you can see through the mulberry paper.
Colors-Jungle (there’s green in the leaves)
Element-Teach(es)or teacher (sentiment says “I’ve learned…)
Random-Tangle (the waves are tangled)

Floral Friday Upcycled Layered Sunflowers card

I made this card using a store-bought card. I fussy cut the flowers and then layered them onto the card base. The two flowers on the right-hand side were attached with dimensional adhesive. The sentiment is from My Stamp Box. The circle punch is by Creative Memories. I put some blue I. The corner represents the sky.

City girls by Deep Red Stamps

The Deep Red Stamps girls are on summer vacation and others are ready to go. I stamped all of them with Memento black and colored them in Copic markers.

The Sassy City girl wearing the pants, the pink embossed paper used in this card is from a store-bought. I put a slit in the top left corner to allow the white paper to go through it. Something different so it’s not exactly the same as the store-bought one

The background for Missy in the pink party dress above was made with powdered chalk mixed with paint in red and brown. The 4” square patterned paper is by DCWV. The two brown brackets are rub-ons.

The City party girl in purple has a really easy and short list of supplies, the background with embossed hearts is a store-bought card. All of the purple cardstock is from my stash.

Let's talk about the City Girl wearing a blue skirt,  I had made a really ugly background with the Milled Lavender, Tumbled Glass…and one more distress ink. But it worked well with the way I had colored her a long time ago. The black cardstock behind her is by SMS. The sentiment is by Stampin Up.

Which card or girl do you like? Leave me a comment below.

Upcycled inside sentiments on Christmas cards

The sentiment is an upcycled inside of a Christmas card that I layered it onto patterned paper by K and I and by Bo Bunny. I colored the Holly and berries with Copic markers.

The sentiment was die cut by Spellbinders and then inked the edges with distress ink. The striped patterned paper is unknown but the red patterned paper is by Stampin Up. The Santa stamp was black heat embossed and colored in.
Thanks for looking.

Cynthia’s BIG Teal N Pink Birthday Card

This is a big card. I took an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of white cardstock and folded it in half. Then I started my layering. First, a piece of bright pink cardstock. Then a striped piece of vintage wrapping paper. Followed by a blue patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket.

To finish up, I found the blue scallop square in butterfly in my stash. I added a “happy” die cut by Lawn Fawn and the “birthday” die cut by Clearly Besotted.

The lady I made this card for has  macular degenerative disease. Her daughter requested cards to be large and have larger fonts.

Thanks for looking.

Upcycled Stockings Christmas Cards Part 2

It’s green for St. Patrick’s Day!

I used a Tim Holtz stencil with distress ink to create a tone on tone background. The stocking is an upcycled To From tag. The sentiment is metal and it’s by Making Memories. Thanks for looking.
