Double stenciled backgrounds

This is a Tim Holtz tag that I did a stencil on a stencil technique. The twisted square stencil is by Momenta, and the dot stencil is by Gina Marie. I used Distress Oxides. The sentiment is by Sizzix. I stamped it with purple ink and clear heat embossed.

Then I created a small tag using a different stencil with the square stencil, but I didn't know how to finish it off, so maybe next time.

This last one uses two stencils and the same sentiment stamp.

Pretty Purple LOVE Card

The double-sided patterned paper is by Craft Consortium. I used the front of the patterned paper for the background. I folded two of the corners back on itself to reveal white cardstock. Then with the extra patterned paper, I turned it over and die-cut the word Love. The die cut is by Crafter's Companion. The shadow of the word Love is out of shiny gold paper by Sizzix.
Here’s an example using the same paper pad and sentiment die cut. Yes, the pad has a mix of reds, pinks, and purples.
Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday Haunted House card

The background is a upcycled card base covered with white cardstock, purple cardstock and a partially cut  square die cut out of black cardstock. That die is covered with black and white polkadot Papertray Ink paper and a lawn die cut out of Papertray Ink paper. The haunted house die cut was given to me. Thanks for looking.

Pink and Purple Winter Outdoor Accessories Card

I cut the gloves and scarf out with my Cricut many years ago. I will try to link back to the layout in which they came from. The die cuts are wrapped around the super old frame die cut by Provo Craft. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. Thanks for looking.

2 Different Purple Cross Cards

Purple cross card

For the card above, I used scraps of purple paper to create the background. I couldn’t get them on straight, so I purposely made them crooked. The cross is a stencil with iridescent embossing paste and they are both by Dreamweaver stencils. I had to cut behind the cross in order to feed the ribbon to lay over the cross. Then I attached the ribbon on the front with a glue dot.

For the second card, I stamped the Stampin Up cross stamp and colored it in with Copic Markers. I Outlined the cross with an STA Metallic Pen. The cross is layered on top of Cricut cuts from the cartridge Labels. The corner punch is by Marvy. The flower in the corner is unknown at this time but the leaves die cut is Recollections. Thanks for looking.

Any Occasion Cards Purple and Red donation cards

I think this is the end of the cards that I made to donate to a friend in California. The patterned paper is from Accord Publishing the cardstock is by Recollections. The butterfly and flower are die cuts from Crafter’s Companion.

This last one uses bees I cut out of a patterned paper from the Accord Publishing The patterned papers on the outsides are by Basic Grey. The sentiment stamp by Stampabilities. It is stamped on a K and Co. label
Thanks for looking.

Lately, I haven't been thrilled with my blog. It feels like a mess. There aren't enough hours in the day to fix 3971 blog posts. I was hoping that the background change would get the fonts the same size. Nope!  It didn't work.  So, there are two options
1.) Continue pondering over it and wasting time re-doing every post since 2009.
2.)Stop worrying about it. Each day 15 people come to my blog.
I blog so my projects are all in one place. I like to look back at the cards and layouts I did in 2011. In fact, I started with didn't make cards at first. It was mostly scrapbooking and I have a lot of scrapbooking things to post. Off of my computer onto my blog.  I will finish up with one of my quotes...

June Calendar Layout Kids in the Foam Pit

This is such a bright layout but the papers match the foam in the pit. The title is from my Cricut. The vellum sentiment is unknown. There are many scraps of paper. The blue/purple cardstock is from Craft Smith (Michael's). [Is it blue or is it purple? that is the question. lol]
The orange papers have a little more to them. The polka dot paper is by Papertrey Ink. The orange paper on the bottom row from left to right  I have a feeling that the first paper has something on it. The second orange paper is dry embossed with little squares, like the foam in the pit. The last orange paper is stamped with a border stamp by Simon Says Stamp. It's a tone-on-tone looking thing. Thank you for stopping by.

Cricut Yellow and Purple Birthday Presents Card

I made this card using my Cricut. It is a “drawer card”. When Idk what to do with a projectat I stuck it in a drawer after I didn’t like what I did with that. I’m finally sifting through these projects and deciding what to do with them. Unfortunately, like this one, they’re NOT very pretty. But since yellow and purple are complementary colors I don’t mind this one as much…it’s not that bad. Idk, I have mixed feelings on this card, do I like it or do I not like it?

Floral Friday Detailed square die cut Anniversary cards

I just love this detailed square die. It makes for such a gorgeous card for many occasions.
I made the gold card using up cycled packaging. Yup, the gold paper and the white paper behind it.
The second card was made when I made the purple anniversary cards I posted yesterday. I’m not sure why I went with purple for anniversary cards but I think they will be appreciated. Thank you for stopping by.

Soft colors make a wreath card

I made my card today using die cuts from a Sizzix set that is full of birds. The patterned papers I used were by K and Co., Pepertrey Ink, and Tim Holtz. The background paper is by Studio Calico. The sentiment stamp was a set I bought off of eBay. I've been on a shopping spree the last month. I'm not as familiar with my new products. Anyway, the bow is a sticker by Mrs. Grossman. I punched the center of the wreath out with a Marvy circle punch.

Lately, I have been doing challenges for inspiration and a place to start.
I made this card for the challenge at

Purple Birthday Card with Copic markers to the rescue

I have a cute birthday card with a lot to say about it. Tim Holtz die created the border on tap. The scalloped border is a sticker by Doodlebug. The border at the bottom was a pink sparkle and by Making Memories. Well, things can’t be easy and somewhere it’s got a pen mark on it. I sprayed it with this obnoxious shimmer spray that I recently purchased. It didn’t do much of anything to help my situation. I took a purple, light purple colored marker to the edges. I must say I was quite nervous because my arm tends to jerk.

The happy die is by Clearly Besotted. The word birthday is a draw feature on my Cricut.

The flower stamp is by Stampin Up. I colored it in with Copic markers. It was kind of drab and didn’t do much for the card.

Silver cards with purple flowers

At the end of this post, I responded to my own post from yesterday. lol...That probably makes no sense to anybody but me.

The first set of two cards are similar and the second set of two cards are similar. However, the first and third cards have nothing in common.
Scratch that! Card 1 and Card 3 use the same circle square die cut.
Moving on.
The stamp on the pink card is by Stampin up. I colored it in with Copic markers and used some Stickles on each flower.

The sentiment is part of the bouquet stamp

The gray square with circle edges die-cut is by Spellbinders

The silver paper is by Creative Memories

I used the same silver cardstock on these two cards in the same way.

So check this out.
I found a trend on some store-bought cards.
There will be a large image on the front of the card and then there will be a smaller image of the same design or color on the back of the card.
I used both images in this set of cards.

This the front image of the card. I matted it onto the same silver cardstock as above the same purple recycled card as below.

The purple and yellow backgrounds are recycled cards.
Square punch by Creative Memories.
The scalloped square die is by Spellbinders.

Yesterday I said, I need to quit using this stamp set. I've tried.

But now I think it's time to move on from yesterday's stamp set and a few others that I've gotten my money's worth on.
So let me tell you about the company called,

The owner lost her husband when her children were very young and it prompted her to start making memory books of him for her kids.
Here's her page about Crafting for a Cause mission.

She is a local scrapbook business and you may recall that I auditioned for her DT back in December. You can see the project I made in this post HERE.

Thanks again for stopping by. Have a great weekend.

Two Birthday cards Yellow Lots of candles and Purple Flowers Card

I have two more birthday cards to add to my collection of upcycled store-bought cards

The sentiment stamp is by Stampendous

The cake is from a recycled card that I fussy cut out.

I used a recycled circle from a card that my grandma received. It was falling off the original card and worked well to cover up the words my sister.

The flower background is a recycled card.

Ariel mermaid card

My friend loves The Little Mermaid. This one was for her.

I used stamps by:
 Ariel stamp is by Inkadinkado
The rocks stamp is by Lawn Fawn
Both stamps were colored with Copic markers
The musical notes background stamp is by Hero Arts. And heat embossed in a light purple on a project life card.
The sentiment just for you is by Fiskars and the Princess is unknown. It was heat embossed in silver and inked with distress ink and sprayed with Glimmer Mist.
Ariel is on a Spellbinders label die cut that I inked the inside with distress ink before taking the paper out of the die. The matching rhinestone frame is by Want2Scrap
I bought the wave dies on eBay. I inked them with distress ink.

This is just a picture of the stamped background on a grid lined Project Life card.
