J. B. S. Haldane (1892 – 1964)

John Burdon Sanderson Haldane (Born::November 5, 1892Died::December 1, 1964) was a British-born geneticist and evolutionary biologist. Among others, J. B. S. Haldane was one of the scientists that laid the foundations of population genetics and the mathematical theory of evolution.[1][2]

Biography

Haldane was born in Oxford. His father was John Scott Haldane, a physiologist and his mother, Louisa Kathleen Haldane descended from Scottish aristocrats.[3] He went up to New College in the autumn of 1911.[4]
