Color Throwdown #537

These spring weeks are really flying by and we're already into April...a busy month with 3 and  soon to be four birthdays in our immediate family! Our fourth grandchild - a girl - is due on the 12th!

Lori is hosting the new Color Throwdown Challenge and has chosen some really beautiful colors - purple, yellow, green and gray! I started with stamping the word panel in Silver Lining ink by WPlus9.

The 'hello' portion of the sentiment was white embossed on black using Altenew's Pure White embossing powder. The florals were colored with Copics then die cut.

STAMPS: Friendly Florals, Hello Spring - both by Neat and Tangled.
PAPER: White, Black (PTI); Bumblebee Yellow (Reverse Confetti).
INK: Versamark; Memento Tuxedo Black.
DIES: Hello Spring, Friendly Florals (Neat and Tangled); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics by MFT.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

I'm playing along with the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge and decided to break in this new (to me) hoop die and Handstitched stamp set by Neat & Tangled. The patterned paper is from an old 6x6" pad called Love Me by My Minds Eye.  The hoop was cut from kraft CS and the screw top was cut from shiny cold CS...so fun! Coloring was done with Copics.

A quick and easy sketch and I have another birthday card to add to my stash!  Thanks so much for stopping by...it's spitting snow as I'm writing this post! :-(  Come on spring...where are you???

Paper Players

This is theme week at the Paper Players Challenge and Anne Marie has chosen Spring Fever! Yay for longer days and the thought that spring is just around the corner!  I am SOOO ready!

I went with a navy blue and spring green color combo and used a pop of yellow similar to the inspiration photo.  The Hello Spring stamps and dies were my starting point.

I stamped the word background twice with navy ink over a smooshed background that was created using Twisted Citron distress ink on watercolor paper. I stamped the flower and leaves with Navy ink over scraps of yellow and green water colored paper.  The hello sentiment was white embossed on navy cardstock.

STAMPS: Hello Spring (Neat and Tangled); Spring Flowers (Simon Says Stamp).
DIES: Hello Spring (Neat and Tangled); Spring Flowers (Simon Says Stamp).

We'd love to have you join in this challenge!  For more inspiration from the rest of the talented design team, please check out their creations HERE.

Color Throwdown

Spring is officially here as of yesterday, so my card for the new Color Throwdown Challenge is to celebrate spring's arrival! Jodi is our hostess and has chosen black, white and peach for our colors.  I spied some green in the photo as well and just had to add some leaves to my image.

That large gingham print chair led me to use Concord and 9th's Plaid Background stamp for starters.

This is my first time using any products by Neat and Tangled, but their Hello Spring stamp set and matching die in their last release was too much to resist any longer! The florals are from the Brushed Blossom stamp set by Concord and 9th and were fussy cut and popped with foam tape.  To get the plaid background to stamp so clearly required multiple inking and stamping with my MISTI.  I love this look but will admit it takes a lot of muscle power and re-inking to get it to stamp properly.  I think I stamped it at least five times!
