Mojo Monday

A dreary and wet Monday, but not working outside means more stamping time indoors, so it's all good! I made this card for three different challenges:
Mojo Monday - sketch by Teresa Kline
CR84FN - use mint, blue, and neutral colors
Paper Sundaes - things with wings

It's hard to tell in the photo, but I sewed some curved stitching lines around the base panel, then sobered up and stitched the straight lines on the green panel - lol!  The rest is pretty self-explanatory.

Here's my enabler's list:
STAMPS: Small Phrases by Verve
PAPER: Sweet Threads DP by BasicGrey, White by PTI, Baja Breeze by SU
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Ironworks Accents die by Spellbinders, Baja Breeze seam binding (SU), Circle Nestie, Butterfly punch by MS, Button, Flag die by Lil Inker Designs, Adhesive rhinestones, Distressing tool.

Mother's Day Iris

Good Friday everyone! I'm bringing you a card for several challenges. It's my DT card for the Raise the Bar Challenge to create a Mother's Day card. My mother and MIL have both passed away, but I still love to create cards for co-workers who need them! This is also for the Paper Sundae's Mother's Day challenge and it uses Karen Giron's great Sweet Sunday Sketch.  Right now, irises are blooming everywhere in VA, so I went with this older set from Flourishes called Siberian Iris...colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped over the BG.  I'm entering this into Flourishes' Bring Back Beautiful challenge for May where we're to highlight a fave flower on our card.

Be sure and stop by the Raise the Bar blog to see what the other bartenders have to inspire you!  We hope you can play along with us!

STAMPS: Siberian Iris (Flourishes)
PAPER: DP by Recollections (Michael's), Pacific Point, White, X-Press It Blending Card.
INK: Pacific Point
ACCESSORIES: Picot Circle and Circle Nesties, Square lattice EF by SU
COPICS: B02, B04, B05, B06, YG00, YG03, YG06, Y15.

Sending Big Hugs

It may be rainy and dreary outdoors, but it's sunny and bright in my stamp room today!  I created this card for 3 different challenges:
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge
CR84FN - Pink, Orange, Yellow
Paper Sundaes Challenge - Spring Blossoms
The sentiment is a freebie I got with an order with MFT and it's outlined and die cut using 'Lil Inker Designs' Flags & Tags Stamps set with accompanying die.  DP is from K&Co's Citronella 12x12 pad and the base is Yoyo Yellow from my retired SU stash.  Thanks for stopping by...hope you've had a great w/e!

Thought for today...
Difficult people are brought into our lives so we can practice patience.

My fave color...Green!

Since it's such a scorcher of a day outside, what better way to stay cool than to stamp away in the AC?! This is my second card for the day...and it's for the 2nd Viva la Verve sketch challenge in the Verve forum on SCS and also for the Paper Sundaes Challenge using the theme - let's get sentimental. Using Andrea's fabulous sketch, I went with a monochromatic card with papers from Cosmo Cricket's new Odds & Ends Mini Deck pad. I stamped off the fern once before stamping on the oval Nestie.

Here's what else I used:
STAMPS: Forever in Our Hearts (Verve) - fern
Hope Blooms (Verve) - sentiment
PAPER: Vintage Cream, Early Espresso, Odds & Ends (Cosmo Cricket)
INK: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
ACCESSORIES: Corner chomper, Oval Nesties, Pearls, Tiny flower punch (from $1 bin at Mike's), Embroidery trim by Wright's, Satin ribbon, Floral Band border punch by MS.

STAMPS: F-1165 by PSX (outhouse), Sittin' Here by Impression Obsession, Tiny Tags (SU), One Person (flower) by Verve.

Casing Shelly

Today's featured stamper on SCS is Shelly aka Freshn'Sassy. This was a new gallery to me, but thoroughly enjoyed browsing through Shelly's wonderful creations! I decided to CASE this card - changing the colors, using a butterfly instead of a flower and placing the sentiment on a tag die instead of the lower panel. This card is also for the Free 4 All challenge to use orange, for the Paper Sundaes challenge to use 2 or more of the following toppings (sparkle, pearls, die cuts, yellow) and for the Totally Gorjuss challenge to Bling it On!
STAMPS: Faithful Phrases by Verve
PAPER: Stella & Rose Mabel papers by My Mind's Eye, White
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: EK Success large scallop border punch, Half pearls, A Cut Above dies (sentiment) by Verve, Butterfly by Recollections (Mike's), Adhesive bling (Mike's).
Wishing all my blogger friends a blessed Easter! What a beautiful Resurrection Sunday it's been with gorgeous weather and a meaningful worship service this morning! Blessings to all!

Tulip Corner

It's a dismal, cold and blustery March day, so will have to warm things up with a spring creation in my stamp room! Just got this tulip corner stamp in the mail yesterday, so it was perfect for the Stamping in Time ODBD challenge to use something new. I used the purple/blue/white colors for the Play Date Cafe color challenge...coloring the image with Copics and layering with Plum Pudding (PTI), Marina Mist (SU) and white. The sentiment was stamped over the triple layered mat stack dies from MFT. This card is also for Paper Sundaes Challenge to use embossing. I used two EFs from SU: Square Lattice and Framed Tulips.
STAMPS: Tulip Corner (ODBD), I Am the Way (ODBD) - sentiment.

This is a free digi image from Kim Hughes' Paper Smooches blog that I colored with Copics, then cut with CM's circle cutter to create an "out of the box" image...or in this case out of the circle! The card is also for Paper Sundaes Challenge to keep it simple, for SCS CAS Challenge to create an "out of the box" image, and for Fall To Layout sketch challenge on the Clean and Simple Stamping blog.
PAPER: Stella & Rose Hattie papers by MME.
ACCESSORIES: Daisy die (SU), Vintage buttons (PTI), CM circle cutter, Copics (BG72, BG75, YG03, Y21, Y23, Y26).

Color Challenge

Betty has some unusual colors this week for the SCS Color Challenge: Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, & Elegant Eggplant...forcing me to put my thinking cap on! Yes...I'm a stalker...I kept checking the new card additions on SCS to see what colors were on board. I made the card without knowing what the dessert option was, and I can't believe I didn't use a single die on this one! Oh, well...I need to skip dessert anyway - lol! I used my nearly forgotten sanded BG stamp...love the look of it, especially with distressed and sponged edges. I'll be anxious to see what everyone comes up with using these colors. This card is also for the Paper Sundaes Challenge to use distressing.
STAMPS: Blossoms Abound (SU), Tiny Tags (SU), Sanded BG (SU)
PAPER: Soft Suede, Elegant Eggplant, Riding Hood Red textured CS, White
INK: Soft Suede, Elegant Eggplant, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive

Casing Julie

Julie (UKJem) is the featured stamper on SCS this week and WOW...is her gallery ever amazing! I loved her white on white cards with a variety of embossing and textures that were lightly sponged! For my CASE, I changed the layout, used different EFs & floral dies. I'll definitely be going back to her site for more inspiration in the future! This card is also for Paper Sundaes Challenge to use circles (large dotted circles EF, round brads, pearls, circular flowers) and for The Shabby Tea Room Challenge to use a sketch by Pattie. I used 3 different CB embossing folders. The flowers were die cut using a PTI flower die, then sponged and curled gently around a stylus. The scallop edge punch (SU) and frond punch (MS) were also used. Everything was sponged with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink. Thanks so much for stopping by...don't forget the drawing for my 1 year blogoversary give-away is Wednesday...check THIS POST FOR DETAILS!

The stocking was hung...

Challenges:
Creative Belli - Christmas themed embellishment
Tuesday Taggers - The stockings were hung...
Paper Sundaes - Anything but a square or rectangle
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes Christmas
I needed another gift card holder, so went with Claire's stocking template again. Tinkering with Tealights

Just had to share a fun new gift idea I learned about at my last stamp club yesterday! My SU demonstrator had us make a gift box that holds 4 tea lights. The snowflake is stamped on punched tissue paper circles. A small center hole is punched to accommodate the wick, then you heat it several seconds with a heat gun and it melts into the wax. Here is a link to Tanya's online tutorial for a detailed description of the process. The box can be made from a single sheet of CS. You can also fit bite size candies (like Snickers bars) into this box.
Challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Blue,
Blue Christmas
Paper Sundaes Challenge #47 - Gift It!
City Crafter Challenge - Blue Christmas

Cute Card Thursday - the blues

STAMPS: SU

Glory to God

Korin posted a Sketch Challenge with tilted panels...definitely out of the norm for me, but I ended up liking it for a change! I combined the layout with the colors of the Color Throwdown Challenge: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist. Lots of layers in this one...think I counted seven! Loved these colors together! This card also qualifies for ODBD's Shining Light Challenge to use snowflakes and for the Paper Sundaes Challenge to adorn those corners. It's pouring down rain as I post this card...just thankful it's not snow!
STAMPS: Glad Tidings (snowflakes) & Richly Blessed (cross & sentiment) - both by Verve

INK: Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist
