House - Living Room

Part of the room is an add on, made of dark wood with a large window. The rest is currently painted white, and there is a red brick fireplace (that's honestly kind of ugly right now). Thinking maybe paint the walls gray, whitewash the fireplace, keep dark brown couch and wood accessories? White curtains, maybe add in some white crown molding all around the room? Add touches of blue or blue gray as accent colors.
