Katzelkraft - Monochromatic

Hi everyone!
It's Katzelkraft day and I am back with a new inspiration :))
Today with a tag...

For this tag, I followed the instructions given in ISA's live, so that's why it is monochromatic green.

I created the background with Rustic Wilderness and Mowed Lawn (Distress Oxide) and three different stencils. I lightened some zones with bleach, recognizable by the bluish looking spots. Stamped grids, dots and numbers. Sponged the edges with Black Soot (Distress Oxide).
The bunny and the flies I stamped on gel print scraps, cut them out and pasted them on the tag.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

News from the wild...

Hello everyone!
It's halftime at the Dream Factory and we're still in the wild. Our theme is Jumanji, and today I'm gonna show you another card from the jungle.

For my background I took a sheet of patterned paper - I have so much from this stuff and actually never use it!
I die-cut different leaves and colored them with alcohol markers. Others are directly stamped on the panel you can see behind the leaves. The panel is a remnant from a background I made with the Gelli-plate.
The animals are fabric-textured, padded stickers. The branch on which the bird sits is fussy cut.

The sentiment is stamped on a small strip, which is slightly curved and only glued at both ends. As a final touch I added three sequins to the card. I really like the "zebra look" of the patterned paper...
...and on top of that, several of the black stripes are provided with green shimmering glitter, which can be seen very well on this view!

What do you think about it?

Frog Jumping Day - DotMCC Challenge #15

Hello everyone!
It is time for a new challenge at Day of the Month Card Club!
After the rats and mice, now it's the frogs' turn! - The theme for this month is...

Frog Jumping Day
Celebrated on May 13th

Frogs have great jumping capabilities and are the best jumpers among all vertebrates given their size.

According to several sources, the unofficial holiday celebrates a short story named Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog by Mark Twain. In the story, a compulsive better named Jim Smiley trains a frog to jump and bets with a man that his frog can jump higher than any other frog in the town. The man dupes Jim Smiley and wins the bet. It is, however, unclear why the inventor of this day chose May 13 as the date for this “hoppy” holiday.

How to Celebrate?
- Jump around like a frog. - Frog jumping is a fun and competitive pastime for kids as well as for adults!
- Go see frogs jump at your local aquarium or pond and learn more about frogs and their habitats.
- Read Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog and other works by Mark Twain.

But the best of all is to create a card and link it to our challenge blog!! 😉

Great! I finally can use some more of these Katzelkraft frogs I got a few weeks ago! So far I've only made a single card with one them - I really had a lot of fun making this one!

The bridge and the trees in the background were drawn by hand. I masked the bridge all around with Washi tape and paper and stamped then a wooden pattern on it. I stamped two more frogs in the pond and then colored everything with alcohol markers.
The frog, which looks a bit frightened, is actually a mix of two frogs. I combined the upper part and the left foot of one frog with the foot of the jumping frog (see the picture below) - as you can see it worked perfectly! Because he looks really pitiful, I drew the frog a swimming hoop as a little extra, colored it, cut it fussy and adapted it! ...if you look closely, you'll see that I've also changed the frog's eyes so that it looks where it should look!
I stamped the flies on white paper, colored them, cut them fussy and then glued them on.
As a final touch I added some black and white accents around the frogs and the pillar.
The sentiment is also from Katzelkraft.

Have fun jumping!

Life's too short...

Hello everyone!
It has been a long time since I made an interactive card but for my sisters birthday I had to make one! She loves cards with surprises!

A funny frog welcomes you with a nice sentiment...

...and the rest of the gang has gathered inside!

This card was made with different papers and scraps of my stash. All stamps are from Stampin'Up. The froggies are colored with alcohol Markers and fussy cut. The tiny flowers on the first view are colored with Lemon Lime Twist and Blushing Bride from Stampin'Up.

This short video shows how it works. Thanks for watching!

A spiky thing!

Hello everyone!
Today I show you cactus number two - sorry, it took me a little longer than expected.
Finally here he is, the big brother of this one!

This time I worked with felt, it's really a very nice and sweet material!
First I drew a cactus on a sheet to have a pattern. I cut it and then cut in half to get two quarters of cactus pattern. I cut each quarter twice out of felt and sewed them together, leaving the seam exposed. I stuffed the cactus starting with the "arms" and ending with the trunk. Then I cut some flowers that I fixed with round-headed pins. For the needles, I used simple pins.

The "potting soil" for the cactus is also made from felt.
For this, I cut two rings out of brown felt that I left open on one side, so that I could put it around the cactus once sewn and stuffed. The pot is made with cardstock and embellished with washi tape.
I really enjoyed doing it! ... it changes a bit of what I usually do!

I hope you like it
....and promised, I will not bother you with other spiky things! 😂

Before the year ends

....I'll show you my last Christmas cards and some other creations I made, but which was not allowed to show before Christmas. 😉

Hello everyone!
Today and the coming days I'll show you my last creation from this year.

I made this cactus for my cousin's daughter. I do not know her personally, but we got to know each other through our blogs. During the year I launched an invitation on Facebook, which was to comment my post and then post it on its own profile. - She was one of the party and therefore got a little something from me as promised!

On this cactus you can easily stow pins, whether it is next to the sewing box or on the windowsill - he looks great in any case!

Oh, I almost forgot,
The cactus is knitted, the stones are made of felt and the pot is made of cardboard and decorated with washi tape. .......... the "flesh" of the cactus is made of polystyrene.

Hope you like it....
because tomorrow I'll show you another one! 😊

Night ...at the Museum 👻

Hello everyone!
We have a new challenge at the Dream Factory! - This month's movie is

Night at the Museum
La nuit au musée -- Nachts im Museum

If you do not know the movie, here are some key words:
Monkeys, mummies (but no Halloween please), horses, cowboys, Egypt, dinosaurs, etc.

Do you like my dinosaur ?? I found it here. I traced it on paper, colored and fussy cut it. Then I sponged a white paper panel with green and blue ink, spritzed some water for more interest and stuck the dino on it.
I stamped and cut the words and glued them next to the cute monster.
I stuck the panel on the white base card, and voilà!
...ah, yes, I also added a tiny cloud on the upper left corner  and a bit glossy to the eyes.  😉

This topic gives many possibilities to let your creativity run wild! - Can not wait to see what you are going to do with it!

See you soon!

Simply Create Too - St. Patrick's Day or Mostly Green

Hallo!
