Lots of Kisses

Hi everyone!
I have the great honor of once again being a guest designer for “Try it on Tuesday”.

The theme for the challenge is:
Add some Text
The challenges is 'anything goes'. As long as you stay within the
challenge theme, you can make whatever you like e.g.
...... a card, altered project, ATC, scrapbook page, journal page  tag,
mixed media or anything else you might like to try, including digital art.

Since I still had some scraps left over from the last card swap, I made a tag out of them.
The tag is from the stash and was almost ready to use. I simply stamped white letters on it and pricked the upper part with a die (like on my cards). Pasted on the sewn denim strips and the rose. Added the die cut sentiment and a few rhinestones, and finally tied two woolen threads to the top. That's it!

This picture shows the pricked part better.

I'm not lazy

Hi everyone!
I have the great honor to be guest designer at  Sistehood of Snarky Stampers.

The theme of the challenge is:
L is for Lindsay
in honour of their beloved sister Lindsey

Lindsey was a very creative person and a talented card maker. She loved cats and flowers and designed her cards in a rather clean and simple style.

I adapted my work to her style. The lazing cat on the book pile is from Katzelkraft. I colored the image with watercolors first and then darkened the shadow areas with alcohol ink markers. The quote is also from Katzelkraft. I backed the card with a holographic foil and then pasted it onto a blank card. Hope you like it.

Oh Happy Day

Hi everyone!
I have the great honor of being this month's guest designer at Once Upon A Time.
The challenge is inspired by a book cover: Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt (see below)

I was rather drawn to flowers for this card. So I wasn't just inspired by the book cover, but also by my peonies. They are particularly beautiful this year, as are all the flowers and plants this spring. The long period of rain we've had has done them a world of good!
I only used design paper for my card. I cut out two different designs and glued them onto a gel print made with Distress Inks. I added a strip of washi tape to the bottom left. The sentiment is a stamp from Stampin'Up.

I really enjoyed making this card :))
I hope you like it and perhaps you'll find some time to paly along with the Once Upon a Time challenge.

Have Fun!!

We Travel...

Hi everyone!
I have the great honor to be a Guest Designer at the Male Room this month.
The theme is: "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"

Of course, I immediately thought of the new stamps from Katzelkraft for this challenge!

I love creating little scenes, so I combined the Citroën 2CV with the house from the Seaside set (also Katzelkraft). As you can see, it works quite well.
Both images I colored first with watercolors and then highlighted the shadow areas with alcohol markers. I cut them out and glued them onto a background, which was made with Distress Oxides.
I stamped the quote (Kaisercraft) and cut it into labels, otherwise it wouldn't have fit in terms of size. Glued on the single words and outlined them with a black fineliner.

Hope you like it. Perhaps you will find time to take up the challenge...
See you soon!

Charlie

Hi everyone!
I have the great honor of being this month's guest designer at CAS on Sunday .
The theme is: Boy / Male card and it has to be CAS

This challenge is really well timed because I needed a birthday card for a man this week.

The idea for this card was inspired by a quote from Charlie Chaplin
...and of course Charlie had to be on it too!

Charlie is composed of one of Katzelkraft's Pabos, an umbrella from which I only took the carrying stick, a hat from AALL&Create and a die-cut bow tie from Scrap Plaisir.
Everything is watercolored, cut out and glued together.
I painted him eyebrows, his typical mustache and a few curls of hair.

Oh, there were also his feet! I cut them off and glued them closer together.
I sponged the background in yellow on the left and stamped over it with a stamp from Kaisercraft.
I actually have a stamp for Charlie's quote in English, but the dear man for whom the card was intended is French and not quite so young anymore. So I made small labels in French and glued them on.

I think you've already guessed which quote it is...
"A day without laughter is a day wasted."

You are Amazing

Hi everyone!
I have the great honor of being this month's guest designer at Ellibelle's challenge "I Spy With My Little Eye".
The theme is: Hearts and/or Roses

I'm not really the flowery type, but sometimes I can go in that direction. Maybe it's just a lack of practice....
My resolution for this year: Using flowers more often.

I die-cut the rose several times from a piece of Bristol paper that was colored with Merry Merlot and glued them close together on a blank sheet of Bristol paper. ....I saved one rose for later.
I cut the finished sheet to size and backed it with another, slightly larger piece of white paper. I then glued this onto a blank card, some of the edges of which I colored in light blue. Filled the white gaps between the roses with black dots.
I stamped the sentiment on a strip of Bristol paper and pasted the rose and a few leaves next to it. Unfortunately, one of the roses was right on top of the one on the strip and I didn't like that at all.
After some thought, I found the solution....
I punched out a heart from a die-cut grid and stuck it behind it. Perfect!
