Katzelkraft - Met•a•mor•pho•sis

Hi erveryone!
Have you already seen the beautiful new butterfly stamps from Katzelkraft
There are two new sets with butterflies, moths and beetles - in total there are 15 new sets, solo and background stamps. Check them out, I'm sure you'll want them all! ;)

I used the largest of the butterflies and made it pop with the triple time stamping technique I also used on this Christmas card. The technique is very simple and yet very effective. I colored one area with colored pencils and with Wink of Stella and left everything else in black and white - just added a few spatters of green in the background. Wink of Stella makes the wings look like real but unfortunately the beautiful shimmer is not visible in the photo.

Hope you like it! - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone!
Ready for another 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge?  For the last week of the month we are asking you for

TRIPLE TIME STAMPING

I created my card after watching this video - the technique is really very easy!
The stamps are from Crafty Individuals. I colored them with inks from stamp pads by picking up the ink with a water brush pen and using it like watercolors. I backed the panels with patterned paper and added a Merry Christmas sentiment from Stampin'Up. Hope you like it!

Have Fun!

Good Things are worth waiting for

Hello everyone!
I want to remind you about our current challenge at the Dream Factory
The movie and theme for this month is

Limitless
"No limits" - just make something you enjoy, or what meets your needs.

I took inspiration from the movie poster and created this masculine birthday card using the hot glue embossing technique. It consists of using a hot glue gun, embossing powder and an embossing heat gun....
...but check out this video (by Connie McFarlane), she shows it much better than I can explain!

Unlike the video, I made my background with acrylic paints and only then applied the hot glue. Since I had also stenciled and the paints don't dry very quickly on acrylic, the embossing powder stuck to some of those areas as well, but I still thought the result was interesting. I added a few splashes of gold to the strips and heated them again. Added the sentiments and glued the strips on.

I had used the technique before here and here. I really like the texture it gives - I think I should use it more often....

A closer view of the texture...

Katzelkraft - Checkmate

Hello everyone!
Tuesday is Katzelkraft day here on my blog and today we're playing chess!
I'm using "LE GAMBIT DU ROI", one of three fabulous new stamp sets from Katzelkraft - designed by Isabelle, which you can find on FB, YouTube and IG.
(I have already used the other two sets on this card)

... so let's play chess!

First, I created a background with acrylic paints, starting with a very light corn yellow on a sheet of Bristol paper. These paints dry quickly, so I could move right on with the other colors.
I used an old credit card to apply some black and turquoise and a touch of green. After drying, I stamped the chess pieces, masked them, and then stamped the chess board. Let the ink dry well and then made a few spots of gray acrylic paint here and there.
Finally, I stamped the two words, one in black, the other in white. Backed the card with black cardstock and glued it on a blank card.

Hope you like it.
See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration and "even more new stamps"!! ;)

DotMCC - Challenge #21 - Reminder

Hello everyone!
This month's Day of the Month Card Club Challenge is

Make Your Own Head Day

Make Your Own Head Day is a day of creativity. A day to be an artist of your own!
Now don't be afraid, you do not have to draw or paint your own head, we rather ask you to stimulate it and be creative in some way! - However, it should be a card or another creation made of paper!

As a reminder on our current challenge I made this very simple birthday card.

I'm sure you're wondering now what this card has to do with this special day!
Well, just watch the video....

... do you like it?

Basically this card is very easy to make. You only have to measure and cut the mechanism correctly, the rest is a piece of cake! I followed the instructions of this tutorial and it works perfectly!!
The instructions are in french, but very easy to understand because of the many details and indications.

I smooshed the background of the cover page with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and stenciled the hearts with the same color. For the inside of my card I stamped different cat and dog images on small squares and glued them on bigger rectangles to get Polaroïd images. Then I stuck the images to the mechanism.
I kept the inside in black and white - the only color spot is the red heart.

As you can see, the whole surprise is hidden in the card,
and that's why I kept the cover page very simple.

I hope I could inspire you! - Have fun, and take good care of yourselves!

Christmas Stair Step Card

Hello everyone!
It is Saturday, and Saturday is for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown
For this week's challenge we would like to see cards with fancy folds.

I decided for a stair step card. (here closed)
I used white cardstock for the card base and covered it with patterned paper.

The inside of the card

I stamped some images and colored them with gel pens.
... sponged and stenciled the X-MAS and stuck some washi tape here and there.
If you want to know how to make a stair step card, please view this video

Happy folding!!

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone!

It's Saturday and I'm delighted to introducing you to our new challenge at 52CCT
For the next two weeks we'll play with shadows. You can use stamps, stencils, embossing powder ......but you can also draw the shadows yourself.
On the challenge blog you can find some videos on how to make shadows if you are not familiar with this technique.

I decided to draw the shadows myself - the straight lines of the subjects on my card made it very easy.
I positioned the subjects provisionally and shifted everything slightly to the bottom right. I drew a fine line at the bottom and right edge of the shapes and then pushed the pieces back to their original position. I coloured the shadows and then embossed about two thirds of the panel with a wall pattern. I stuck the beam to this border and hung the stockings on it so that the previously drawn shadows corresponded with the subjects.
Finally, I stuck a strip of Washi tape to the bottom border and stamped the sentiment - which I also shaded.
Everything is colored with alcohol markers and fussy-cut...

Have fun with the challenge!
