CCC Fun Pigeon

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I had this stamp sitting on my desk for over a week, deciding what to do with him. I looked online for some ideas and found a saying, which meant I went straight to the stamp knowing what to do, the longest time was making the envelope and framed saying.

I stamped him on a piece of card I had in my scraps box, then decided on a different for me, generic background. Next, I stamped the "dots" and used DI's in masculine autumnal colours to blend over them. He was coloured in the same colours apart from his crop. I used 3D glaze for his beak and eyes and white pen for the cere, I didn't know the name of it, so I looked it up! I then stamped some birds to keep him company. He was attached to red card and onto the base card, that I had stamped with the sentiment.

Seeing as he is a homing pigeon, I added the envelope and message he brought home. The envelope and saying was done with Silhouette, printed then cut and scored. I then placed the saying inside the envelope and attached it to the card. His eyes were then 3D glazed.

Fun Folds TMR

Hi Everyone, my post today is for

I can't believe I pondered so long in doing this card, only just making it for the challenge. With so many beautiful folds, I decided on this one. Then went on to do 4 others, 2 went into the bin, so I decided to show you the 2 I'm not too happy with, I could have done better work methinks.

My first card is a Double Z fold, a super card designed by my blog friend Shirley, I didn't do her justice on this card. The tools and sentiment with white card, and the grass with the green of the base card, were cut with my Silhouette, the background paper was cut to size and then stencilled with DO, and added to the green background.

The tools, shelves, and sentiment were coloured with DI's, when dry, the shelves were added, and the tools placed onto them, held with the bracket piece. Then the ladder, the gloves, the grass layer with the sentiment were arranged.

double Z fold Card - Shirley's Cards
stencil - Funky Fossil brick, coloured with Distress Oxide hickory smoke
ink - Distress Ink (lots)
card - white 300gsm Craft Card Hobbycraft
green card - Lidl
Silhouette

My second was a template from Craftworld, a Z fold, which I transferred into Silhouette, I cut the shape, then folded it and added the printed shapes and the rabbit centre. I really don't know where my mind has been on these folds, with so many other shapes I could have done. I spent a long while looking on the web to be able to do something different, it just didn't happen - sorry.

Go see what the DT have done, they are amazing.

Llama birthday CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

I have so many animal digi stamps, that I decided to trawl them and came across this wonderful Llama. I printed her and the sentiment, borrowed from the web. Next, I coloured her with markers and decided to extend the image with stencils and add clouds and extra flowers. They didn't look right, so I added some strokes, with a fine black pen, to the stencilling to copy the image.

After I was happy with the image, I die cut it out and added it to the base card. Simple, but I'm pleased, and it will go to a friend.

Red Dragon CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter.

It's St David's Day, the Patron Saint of Wales. You should know by now, that I usually have a special post to wish you all -

Happy St David's Day

This year I have a card. Looking through my files I came across an Iris folding pattern of a Dragon I had forgotten about, well I HAD to make it, didn't I?

I used tissue paper, something I hadn't used before for iris folding, and it was much easier and flatter to use, in fact, finished, it's not much thicker than a 3D dimensional.

First thing I did was to take the free pattern, link below, into my Silhouette and cut the dragon image and print the pattern. I followed the pattern with the tissue paper, then stencilled the grass hill and clouds. I didn't have an acrylic block to add the small tree stamp, so used the top of an embossing powder container, trouble was I couldn't see if it was straight. However, I liked the quirky angle, as I felt the dragon was fun and could take the quirky.  Next, I attached the finished piece to the base card. Then I added wobbly eyes and drew the nostrils with a fine line pen, as per the pattern, thanks to Sarah, the pattern maker for the idea.

So here is my fun

A little information.
Why does Wales have a red dragon?
The History of the Welsh Dragon - Symbol of Wales
It is considered that the Welsh kings of Aberffraw first adopted the dragon in the early fifth century in order to symbolise their power and authority, after the Romans withdrew from Britain. Later, around the seventh century, it became known as the Red Dragon of Cadwaladr, king of Gwynedd from 655 to 682.

Besides all this, I have a problem. I am commenting on cards and the comment is not coming up on the blog, when I visit next time and check back. Anyone else having this problem?

Just because - CCC

Hi Everyone, my DT cards today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

Another old image, this time from Faith Skrdla, sadly missed.

I took all the images into Silhouette and print and cut all the images, 3 of the bird, 2 of the bee and one layer for the flowers and leaves. Then stencilled the background with my favourite stencil, next I coloured the images with DI's. I thought after I had done the colouring it looked very summery, we are into November! although it could be sent whenever, I layered the images onto red paper making it Summer or Winter? My thoughts anyway, you already know I think differently 😉

Handsome Lion!

Hi Everyone, my DT card today is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

This is the other Lion, I told you about in this post.

My Son's 47th birthday is this month, I usually add his age, and he hates me doing it, so I thought I would be kind to him for a change. hahaha. I had an incredible win from Stamp Addicts in February and after seeing this magnificent Lion, I decided to have him included in my winning stamps. I kept him especially for my Son's birthday.

He was stamped and coloured in DI's, adding a stencilled grass base and patchy colouring for the sky, then I 3D glazed his nose and eyes. He stayed like that for about 2 weeks, with me not knowing what to do from there on. I was looking at sketches online, and came across this lovely card, that I decided to case.

I die cut him, layered him onto brown card and used card the same colours as the grass, 2 colour greens, and the blue of the sky. I stamped the sentiment, used brown card to layer that also, and it was finished in no time. Thank goodness for the case. Although, now looking at it, perhaps the blue piece should have been on top! Oh! Well, he won't notice.

Garden WLSC

Hi Everyone, my second DT card today is for We Love Stamping
the theme this month being "Anything stamped/option Stamped, In the Garden "

My card today is, for me, definitely "In The Garden". Because I have no greater joy than seeing the washing on the line, in the garden. When my son was a baby, I loved the nappies, (diapers) blowing in the wind, on the line, and I took photos of them. Where the photos are now, goodness knows, but they are still flying in the wind, in my memory. Sad, aren't I? As for the sentiment, you want sunshine on a washing day, don't you?

Engine/Train/ Locomotive?

Hi Everyone, firstly I have to apologise for being AWOL with my comments, I have had a few things going on, and it has made it less time for me on the 'puter. I hope to be seeing you all soon. I am keeping up with my DT work at least, and making family cards, this is one of them made recently.

Our Great Nephew is an ardent Railway fan and Volunteers for the Gwili Railway. His 20th birthday came up, and of course it had to be a card with a train on. I had forgotten I had a cut file, so off I went and cut the engine out of vinyl, added it to the card, I think you can just about make out the shine of the vinyl. I stencilled clouds and blended green onto the card. Furthermore, I'm happy to say he was pleased with it.

stencil - Funky Fossil

See you soon, fingers crossed.

Ant & apple CCC

Hi Everyone, I have 3 DT cards today, I hope you will be able to visit each of them, this is for -

Critter Crazy

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter...

I have gone back to one of my favourite digi designers, sadly no longer trading. However I have a large amount of their images to keep me going.  The one I'm using today made me smile, so I had to use him. I also have other ants in my files and the circle is from one of them, it was just a perfect match. I designed it all in my Silhouette program, I print and cut the ant circle and my adorable ant with his apple and the sentiment, I found on the web. I cut an extra layer of the Ant, so I could colour it. The printed layer was then die cut.

I coloured him with DI's, 3D attached him to the printed layer, the circle was attached as it was. Quite a simple card, but it makes me smile. I hope it will you too.

Ant - Bugaboo
ant circle - KAagard
inks - Distress Ink antique linen, candied apple, mowed lawn, forest moss, mustard seed,
grass stencil - Funky Fossil

Come and join us in the challenge, ATG, but, don't forget animals only.

My Birthday and a Wish

Hi Everyone, a card today that I made in Craft Club, to show them how to stencil and stamp with hot embossing. I made it 2 weeks ago and have just realised I haven't posted it.

It's my 75th birthday today.  I was born after the war, so I don't remember the bombing. However, I do remember queuing with my mother for sugar and orange juice, amongst other things. All requiring Ration Books. It was tough living through the hardships after WW2 and the rationing and shortages that we all had to go through. However, my heart goes out to the people of Ukraine, who are running for their lives with no food, water, or warmth in extreme danger of being killed for trying to save their own and their families lives.

My card has the sentiment "Make a Wish", my birthday wish is - that this War and others in the world, will end very soon and people will be able to pick up their lives and build them again in their homeland. God Bless you all.

I coloured the stencil with Distress Inks, then stamped the the image, I stamped and die cut the sentiment, layered it all onto black paper to frame it. I forgot to take my antistatic powder to prevent the embossing powder sticking, so I have fly away gold flecks, but I don't mind in this instance. I also went over some of the embossing powder with a glue pen and added more gold powder in places.

stamp - Woodware Autumn Flowers
sentiment and die - Julie Hickey
stencil - Funky Fossil
sentiment card - Crafters Companion Silver Centura.

I didn't mean for this post to be a sad one, but it's how we all feel I think. Although this evening, on a happier note, my 3 brothers will be with us, one who lost his wife last July, the other 2 with their wives, travelling for hours and hubby's sister, who is caring for her dementia husband and is desperate for a break! Her daughter will look after her father for the evening. The 8 of us will talk, laugh and remember good times, it always makes my day when we get together, which as we are all over the UK, we try and do at least once a year, this will be the first time since Covid and they all decided to do it for my birthday.  AW! We will try and forget the heartbreak and worry surrounding families here and abroad. I am so blessed to have them and my darling husband of nearly 56 years.

I hope this hasn't depressed you too much. Try and have a wonderful day and do what we are doing tonight and forget all your worries. Big Hugs to you all. xx

70th birthday

Hi Everyone, my card today was for our, now retired, Illustrious Leader of The Male Room. It was so sad to have Jane step down to do other things and hopefully enjoy "old age". I shall miss her.

I stamped and embossed, in silver, the floral image and coloured it in Distress Inks, I decided to go pale, as it was a Winter birthday. I then stamped it again and fussy cut the flower shape, which I added onto the opposite side, with a die cut 70 added to it. A few dots of silver Stickles and 3D glaze onto the 70, the addition of a stamped sentiment on a die cut shape.
stamp - Stamps by Me
inks - Distress Inks
number die - lost it's packet (sorry, could be First Edition)
sentiment stamp and die - Julie Hickey
Stickles - silver

hopefully you can see the embossing clearer in this photo

Jane is also a collector of ATC's, so as a Team, it was decided to send her an ATC also. This is the first time I have made an ATC, I hope she likes it.

I stamped the Post Box, text and sentiment. I stencilled the clouds and the Post Box. I shaded around the edge of the ATC, then placed it into an embossing folder of a Post Card, inking over it to bring out the details.

Teenager TMR

Hi Everyone, my post for today is for -

I had a card for my GNephew to make, he is slightly over the teen years, but I think this card is suitable for those techie kids who love their games.

I cut the shaped card and the controls with my digital die cutting machine. I stenciled a circuit board onto the main card, in varying depth of ink. I wanted it to seem as if you could see through the control panel? Oh! well, can't help my thinking! 😉  I stamped the sentiment, then inked the edge with Distress Inks, adding the cut images to the card and clear glaze to the buttons.

Gamer card - Birds Cards
stamp - magazine freebie
stencil - Funky Fossil stencils
clear glaze - Nuvo Crystal Glaze
cutting machine - Silhouette Cameo

I made an insert in Photoshop adding the sentiment, it was printed and then to my cutting machine to cut the shape out.
the perfect sentiment came from Craft U Print sentiments.

Baby Bear

I have 2 DT cards today this is the second, please scroll down for my first card, I'd love you to see it.

Anything Goes but they MUST feature a critter

Whether Furry, Feathered, Fantasy, Fairytale,
Scaly, or Insect, there must be a critter featured...

We are sponsored this month by SheepSki Designs and they generously
provided images to our DT to use on their inspiration projects.

Don't you just love this darling bear? I printed it onto watercolour paper and painted it with DI's then added a few spots with marker pens, the paper was a cheapy and didn't show the colours up so well, so I added glaze and it now looks like I added a sticker! after he was finished. I added a grass stencil, (I have to say this is the most used of any stencil I have, it's fabulous) and some die cut flowers. The bear layer was attached to the die frame and placed onto the strip of paper. I still wasn't happy so added parts of a heart stencil.

die frame - Tonic
flower dies - Tattered Lace
paper - Craft Sensations
grass stencil - Funky Fossils
`heart stencil - Julie Hickey

Something a bit different this month.  We're partnering with Double Trouble

Thing 1:  Trouble Maker - says, "Cleo, my purr-ty furbaby, is excited that August 8th is International Cat Day.  She's "feline" that purr-haps it's time for us to do something claw-some.  Cleo wants to celebrate all of her fur-ends by creating a project that includes any baby animal, e.g. kitten, puppy, chick, elephant.  She thinks this challenge is a paw-sibility, it's purr-fect and will be pun for all."

You can paws here... OR ... use Twisted Sister's optional twist for an additional chance to our random draw.

Thing 3:  Twisted Sister says, "Paw-don me, are you kitten me?  This is hiss-terical!  I am purr-ple with laughter.   Let's see if mew  can come up with a pun for your baby animal or feel free to use one of ours.  Have some pun with this optional twist.

And you're already entering here at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies so pop on over to Double Trouble and enter their challenge, too.  If it fits here, it will fit their theme!  :-D

I love this snake, if you can love a snake? It's just so funny. Anyhow, I added the snake and sentiment to the digital cutting machine. I print and cut 4 layers of the snake and then coloured it with inks, I decided to add glaze to give her a shine.

The printed sentiment I cut with a die and edged it with inks. I was in a quandary as to what background to do, then decided to ink a shaped background with a stencil, I added more stencils to add grass and clouds. Glitter glue added to her bra and a balloon die, after all that I decided I like it! 😀

Water/Beach TMR

Hi Everyone, my card today is for

The Male Room Challenge

I really didn't know what to do, so I looked through my stamps and my cut files and decided to put the ones I found together, so my take on the challenge today is Water!

I cut the background out on the digital cutting machine and added DO's and DI's to the background, pulled out a stencil, that I seem to reaching for all the time, and stenciled the sea and clouds. Stamped the birds and boat, coloured them with DI's added white pen to the waves, then 3d'd the sentiment. Off to find some card to add to the background and found a dark navy that I liked, voila all done! btw, the light blue surround is from my lightbox background.

Floating Alligator

Hi Everyone here I am with my second DT card for today, it's for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks

 and 1 using any image!

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

The sun must have been in my mind when I made this, it had been so lovely here in the UK, chilly but blue skies and sun. I have this fun Alligator and had to use this old joke to make the card. I did a print and cut on the digital cutting machine, then coloured it with Distress inks.

The background was done with a stencil the clouds and waves are on the one, so that is great. I didn't make the background too distinct as I thought the Alligator should be centre stage. I added a sun ray stencil and a sun, also cut on the Cameo which was coloured with DI's.

I glued the 3 layers of the Alligator and sun and sentiment (computer generated) to the background, then layered onto gold mirror card and black paper. I then added glaze to his eyes and clear sparkle pen to the sun, rays and dingy.

Hi Everyone here I am with my DT card for today, it's for the challenge at QKR. Our challenge is on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have 2 chances every month to enter the challenge.

We will select two winners each of the weeks

Anything Goes every 1st & 15th of the month

I saw this bunny and had to have him for my DT card today, I think he's adorable. I added him to the Cameo so I could print and cut him out, then decided to cut some grass at the same time. I coloured the grass on the cutting mat, so much easier, I coloured the grass area on the background and added the grass stencil, then coloured the "earth". A ploughed field? Strange how my mind works.

I stencilled the clouds and then on to the bunny, I have to admit to colouring him twice, the first time was rubbish, luckily I had print and cut 2 for layering, so the next was placed over it and coloured again. This time a little better, I'm not really a colourist, but I tried. I added grey marker, to match the bunny, around the edge of the card to layer the image
