Road to Spring is a tribute to DaYe's hometown, Yangzhou—a Southern Chinese city renowned for its picturesque canals, lakes, ancient pavilions, and narrow alleys, as well as its rich cultural heritage.
The locations referenced in her track titles are real places she often explored and cherished while growing up. Now, having moved to a distant northern city, these alleys, old buildings, waters, and bridges have become internalized memories. In re-imagining and recreating her visits to these childhood playgrounds, DaYe transforms her bittersweet nostalgia into a modern, precise expression that helps her navigate and define her identity in new surroundings.
Through subtle timbres and a dream-like aura, DaYe creates an almost tangible space for her romantic yet restrained compositions. Road to Spring traces a path both to where the heart still lingers and where the future softly beckons.

About DaYe:
DaYe began studying classical piano at a young age and views music as the art of “beauty.” Her work centers on beauty as both the source and highest standard, often ignoring boundaries and rules while exploring the edges of different styles. Her compositions reflect an authentic, emotional spontaneity, while also achieving a delicate balance between East and West, old and new, spirit and craft through careful technique.
In 2023, DaYe released EP1 and EP2 through bié Records. Some tracks are driven by rhythm and groove, while others are guided by mood and emotion, unfolding abstractly and expansively—offering a true expression of her personal style. Later that year, she was also featured in the well-received cultural exchange project, bié Records Meets Shika Shika, co-curated by the two independent labels from Beijing and South America, respectively.
Her 2025 debut LP, Road to Spring, composed of some of her most intricate works reflecting her nostalgic upbringing, marks a defining moment in DaYe's evolution—declaring her maturity both as a musician and a cosmopolitan transplant.
