Amanda White

Hi, I'm the Amanda White in Amanda White Design, a collage-based enterprise with a love of paper, pattern and colour at its heart. As an artist I am a bunch of contradictions: My work is all about Britain, but I live abroad. I "paint" pictures, but use a pair of scissors. I never thought of running a greeting card business - but here I am, with a growing list of happy customers around the world! I discovered my artistic medium when I came upon a pile of my daughters' fashion magazines beside the domestic rubbish bin and started some experimental snipping. My first efforts were seen by the curators of a London house museum who expressed their interest in purchasing cards and prints - and the rest, as they say, is history. And history is what a lot of my work is about. With a good dash of imagination and a liberal sprinkling of style. Most of my cards are on sale in my online shop, some in the actual houses depicted, and others in retail outlets and bookshops. Some of the designs are sold as prints and others have been licensed and made their way onto soft furnishings, a calendar, books and even a fashion collection in China! New designs and ideas for my cards are always simmering away in my notebooks, I hope you enjoy browsing through this website.
