I bought some embroidery hoops and jewlery string and dusted off my middle school friendship braiding skills to make the macrame strings. I counted each weave, so that at regular intervals I would incorporate the outside hoop into the weave. Its a little lopsided but not too bad. Then I placed the doilies into each hoop and braided the ends together.
