37K views · 5.4K reactions | ✨ You’ve just arrived in Hanksville, Utah, (population 219) so what do you do first? Welcome to the smallest adventure town you’ve never heard of. Adventures are limitless, and these are some of my top recommendations to every first time visitor. 1️⃣ Eat a burger at Stan’s — there’s only one right answer of what to do first, and it’s to eat at Stan’s. IYKYK. I’m so excited it’s desert season and my onion rings and nuggets are in the near future. 2️⃣ Visit Goblin Valley State Park — One of Utah’s most popular state parks with hoodoos, goblins, and endless places to explore. 3️⃣ Take a trip to Mars — There is an actual Mars Desert Research station located here. This is the largest and longest-running Mars surface research facility. Be respectful of the boundaries for viewing. 4️⃣ Photograph the popular Rainbow Hills — sure you’ve seen the photos thousands of times and some of the best bentonite hills in the world are located right here 5️⃣ Hike a slot canyon — Some of my favorite trails in this area are slot canyons. There are many non-technical slots you can explore on your own OR if you want more adrenaline, contact @getinthewild for a canyoneering adventure // Always be cognizant of the weather and never enter a slot if rain is anywhere in the forecast 6️⃣ Day trip to Capitol Reef National Park — Located less than an hour away, you’ll find the most underrated National Park in Utah. Going for the day? Look at hiking Cassidy Arch or Hickman Bridge and grabbing pie from Giffords is a MUST. 7️⃣ Off-road around Factory Butte — if you’re looking to off-road, this is the place to go, particularly Swing Arm City. This is a free ride area with countless hills, drops, and ridgeline tracks. Have you been to Hanksville? What else do you recommend to a first time visitor? ✨ #utah #hanksville #moonscape #mars | Mallory ↟⛰︎↟ Colorado Based || Southwest Adventures

19K reactions · 1.4K shares | ⬇️Epic non-national park stops in Utah that are less than 1 mile from the car ⬇️ 📍Long Dong Silver (1.8 miles RT) Located off Utah Highway 24, near the town of Hanksville. There is no official trail, and the ground is soft and sandy in the entire area. 📍Toadstool Hoodoos (1.8 miles RT) Easy hike. Located near Kanab, UT. Great place to stargaze and a drone paradise. 📍Great Chamber (0.5 miles RT) High clearance 4x4 required. You will be driving about 8 miles on unpaved deep sand road from Crocodile Staging Area/Hog Canyon OHV Trail System to the cave. 📍Moonscape Overlook (No hiking required) 📍Purple Mountain (0.4 miles RT) 📍Belly of the Dragon (No hiking required) Located right next to the parking lot. Fun stop suitable for all ages. Make sure you bring a lamp or your phone as it is dark and slippery in the tunnel. Please DO NOT write on the walls. 📍Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park (0.2 miles RT) $10/vehicle entrance fee. Lots of fun activities such as sandboarding/sand sledding and Off-Highway Vehicle riding. Best time to photograph the sand dunes is sunset. 📍Red Canyon Peekaboo (0.7 miles RT) 4x4 required. 3.7 miles drive on unpaved deep sand road from Highway 89 to the parking area. We highly recommend you to air down prior to traveling on the unpaved road. 📍Nautilus (0.9 miles RT) Located 45 minutes east of Kanab or 35 minutes west of Page, AZ. The Nautilus is a hidden gem of Southern Utah. ~0.8-mile RT, the trail is sandy but flat. 📍Paria Townsite (No hiking required) A pretty ghost town near Grand Staircase Escalante. Great drone spot. Pets are allowed on leash. 📍Inchworm Arch (0.2 miles RT) 4x4 required. You will be driving about 8 miles on unpaved deep sand road from Nephi Pasture Staging Area/Inchworm Trailhead to the feature. 📍Factory Butte (No hiking required) 📍Muley Point (No hiking required) Offers great distant views on Goosenecks State Park 🛑These are in REMOTE areas with fragile landscape. Please practice LEAVE NO TRACE at all times! #visitutah #utahhiking #utahadventure #utahitinerary #utahplaces #thingstodoinutah #southernutah #utahhiddengems #travelutah #exploreutah #adventuretravel #couplestravel | ZURUI & TRAVIS | Bucket List Adventure Travel Couple

4.8K views · 5.4K reactions | One of the most unreal places we’ve seen in 📍Oregon 📍Leslie Gulch Wilderness If you visit, be prepared to drive along a dirt road + in an area without much around you. You’ll need to fill up on gas and pack snacks & water as it’s not near any towns. 🚙 We recommend 4WD for this area but it’s not required, you could make it through if you drive slowly with a lower clearance vehicle. Once you arrive, you’ll have stunning views of red rocks practically all to yourself! We only saw one other car here and that was while we were headed out. 🏜️ Camping is available here & we recommend spring as the best time since it can get hot and sandy here. 🏕️ + there’s a lake at the end of the road near the camping area! 😍 Since this area is not protected (not a state or National park), there is NO entrance fee. But, there is as extra responsibility to keep this area clean and trash-free. 🌱 Remember to leave no trace & happy adventuring! 🥾 Tag who you’re bringing here! 🤩 ••• Hi! 👋🏽 We’re Finn + Cece! Two adventure lovers who road-tripped & camped across the USA as we moved to our new home state, Oregon. Be prepared to park and do some walking. Terramor was incredible. Budget of the trip depends on the time frame of visiting, peak season will obviously cost more and be a bit more crowded. Though the carriage trails always seem very peaceful and secluded. We visited in June. Weather was perfect - lows in the 50s and highs in the 60-70s. #maine #barharbor #glamping #terramor #acadianationalpark #mainething #visitmaine #barharbormaine #acadia #visitbarharbor #jordanpond #ebikes #familytravel #travelfamily #raleighnc #visitraleigh #raleighnc #raleighblogger #maineblogger #familytravelblogger #travelfromnc #nc #northcarolina | Well traveled child | Beyoncé · TEXAS HOLD 'EM (Instrumental)
