Grand German Late 17th Century Baroque Walnut Armchair

Fine tall German late 17th century Baroque walnut throne armchair with a rectangular arched padded back and seat covered in 17th century Gobelin depicting ‘Susanna and the Elders’ with fringed edge, flanked by downscrolled foliate-carved armrests each terminating in an unusual dragon head, on turned columnar stiles and legs, joined by a X-stretcher. Some parts of the legs with 19th century replacements. Some traces of earlier parcel-gilt and painted decoration.
