Hannah Sylcox | Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant on Instagram: "🌀 Do you have a sensory seeker? 🌀

A sensory seeker is someone, often a child, who craves more sensory input than others, like moving, touching, or making noise, to help their body feel calm and focused. Sometimes kids who are sensory seekers do things that seem "bad" or disruptive, but really, they're just trying to get the sensory input their bodies need. They might move around a lot, touch everything, talk loudly, or play rough because their bodies are craving more sensation. It’s not that they’re misbehaving on purpose—it’s how they’re trying to feel balanced. When we understand this, we can help them find better ways to get that sensory input without it causing problems.
