Lemonade Anyone
So its time to get fruity at Simon Says Stamps Challenge, so how about a bit of lemonade anyone.
So as you can see I've gone for Lemon using the yellow papers from Echo Park Hello Summer, you probably realise that I love making cards using Echo Park papers good job Simon Says Stamps stock them.
I've used the Martha Stewart Picket fence border punch but fold the sides back to make it look like gates.
The fabulous flower is an exclusive die called Meadow Rue from Simon Say Stamps and the bunting was using a square punch for a banner shape. Last but not least the adorable image is from Belles'n'Whistles Lemonade Anyone.
Do pop over to the Simon Says Stamps Challenge to check out the amazing samples made by the DT and don't forget the fabulous prize but you have to be in it to win.
Right lets see if I can schedule this at the right time this week!

As usual Heidi will be giving one lucky entrant a $50 voucher to her FANTASTIC Simon Says Stamp Superstore !!
AND
Faber-Castel will also be giving a lucky entrant a lovely Mixed Media Sampler set and a 4 pack of Gelato's !! :-)
So back to my card, I had another senior moment and I remembered the word Sweet for the challenge and totally forgot the Tooth. Lucky for me I had used repositional glue on the white mat of the image and I managed to take the old image off and replace it with this Belles'n'Whistles Cupcake image.
I made the background using Hero Arts Flourish Background and the two blues from this Gelatos pack.
I can't believe how easy it is to use the Gelatos, once I had stamped and embossed with white embossing powder and I roughly coloured round the edges with the light blue and simply grabbed a wet wipe and wiped the colour from the outside in.
Then I just use less of the dark blue on the outside and using the same wet wipe blended the colours. It would have taken ages to used the blending tool and distress inks.
I would advice not to use the soggy wet wipes at the bottom because it did start to break down the paper but I've only used my cheapest white card stock which is really thin.
I used the Martha Stewart Cherish and deep edge Lattice punch to make the card.
Although Simon doesn't stock Polychromos they are by Faber Castell and that is what I use mostly to colour my images. I have Prismacolors but I'm so frustrated with them breaking and I use them only if a colour matches the paper better. Also I find the Polychromos can be sharpen to a decent point to get into small places to colour.
This is my original card using Sarah Kay Sophie's Wishes, I was going for Sweet not Sweet Tooth. I was going to try and talk myself out of it by saying it was inspired by Glacier Mints but I thought that was pushing my luck.
She has come off the card in once piece and I plan to make another card with her.
I had even made another card using the Green out the Gelatos pack but that had nothing to do with Sweet Tooths either. I had used the blue so I wanted to have a go using the green this time I use watercolour paper. You have to remember that a little goes a long way especially with the darker colours. Kicking myself now cos I just ordered from Simon and forgot to get some more colours.
Gosh sorry for the exceptionally long post.

Pink Polka Dots
Simon Say Stamps Challenge this week is for a sketch and its a nice easy one.
I've used Belles and whistles Cupcake stamp along with Kaiser papers Miss Nelly. The flowers are a MFT die even comes with its own dinky leaves too.
But what I really love is the Meridian Border from Memory Box which I cut out and using the hole in between each scallop I cut up to it allowing me to slightly turn the scallops to fit round the circle mat. I think this border may overtake my love for the deep edge doily punch.
Don't forget to check out the amazing creations that the team has made and you if you join us this week you can be in for a chance to win this fabulous prize.
I've got to knuckle down today so I can have time to finish my layouts from the weekend.

What did the stork bring
It's a very special challenge today on Simon Says Stamps Challenge, Heidi our boss from Simon Says Stamps is having a baby around today and DT Christine is due to have her baby soon. So the challenge is for a baby card, love the challenge name What did the stork bring.
This is going to be a long post quite a few pics. My card started off as Joy fold card but then it went its own way. I have actually made a book hinge on both sides so that when closed it lays nicely. Both the babies are Belles'n'Whistles.
The papers are Echo Park Be Mine and I've the Martha Stewart doily punch. The embossed lines are using a scoring board.
Click on the pic to make it larger to be able to read the poem
I've used the doo-hickey swirl a lot and prima flowers which Simon Says stamps have loads of gorgeous ones to chose from. The poem is from the internet and printed on the PC and the border is another favourite border punch from Martha Stewart Cherish, the corner is a cuttlebug die.
I've taken out the awful orange bits out of the middle of the flowers and replaced them with pearls.
I used a die for the tag on the back so I can write my congratulations on.
Do pop over to see the fabulous cards the team have made and don't forget there's an amazing prize for one lucky winner but you to be in it to win.
Phew that was a long post.

Pearls
We have a fabulous challenge this week on Everybody Art Challenge its Pearls or Beads. I used them for the inside of these Prima flowers that happen to be in my Simon Says Stamps parcel a couple of weeks ago. They have a funny orange centres but they are easy to remove.
I use a Belles 'n' Whistles image and Kathy's sketch from Just Magnolia a couple of weeks ago cos I love it so much. A different Martha Stewart border punch to go round the oval it was bit more fiddly than my favourite but it still works.
The papers are those gorgeous Kaiser Magic Happens that I also used yesterday. It so wouldn't be my card if there wasn't a bit of ribbon somewhere.
Do check out the team and we would love for you to join us.
With these beautiful days comes annoying bugs in my room who think my fluorescent bulb is daylight so I turn it off in hope they leave. Well this little bug wasn't going any where so I whacked it with a piece of card, missed it but my bulb shattered and Hubby wasn't able to buy a replacement cos its an odd size. So while I'm waiting for him to get round to putting a brand new one in, I've moved into the dining room again.

So a quick baby boy card for my Son for one of his friends, I used the Belles and Whistles baby image because I reckon he would be quick to colour and I was right.

Make you Own
Well we have a fab challenge over on Simon Says Stamps Challenge to make your own embellishments. I couldn't wait for another chance to use the fab Hero Arts spotty flowers I got from Simon Says Stamps.
Also Simon Says Stamps are selling Belles and Whistles stamps including this little darling I used today. The papers are Prima the 6inch Sweet Fairy pack. I also used the Martha Stewart lace doiliy punch but I may have to another spend at Simon and replace it cos it wasn't very happy with me or maybe I just stick to deep edge doiliy punch.
Maybe my flowers are a bit of large size and should have used just used the little flower but I do love those flower stamps.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and see the fabulous creations the DT have done and don't forget if you join us you have a chance to win this.Well DS came home to us last night and is hobbling around. He's main problem he was straving.

Pretty in Pink
I've been stroking this paper from Pebbles for weeks now and I finally cut into them, well this sweet Belle & Whistle image deserved some pretty paper. The sketch I used was from A Spoonful of Sugar and the flowers are punched from the 3 different flower sizes from Ek success. I was thinking of punching some leaves but I thought it would be a touch too much so this is probably how I would make a clean and simple card.
Well the crop was busy and noisy, there was a family fun day outside on the playing field but it did mean FairyKaren brought some handmade cakes for our afternoon tea.
Scrapbooking wise I didn't have a success day, I cut paper, moved it around a bit, stuck it down, didn't like so put it away.

little boy blue
It's a blue and white challenge on Everybody Art Challenge, I was lucky to find in my papers the doodlebug cloud paper and the gingham is a scrap left after my DD used it for a baby book she made.
I love my white picket fence border from MS and the sweet little chap is a Belle and Whistles stamp.
Of course there's a bit of ribbon and although I prefer punched flowers because I love how they match the papers these are brought ones.
Do you love arty stuff and enjoy getting messy then Simon Says Stamps could be looking for you. Here's what they have to say.

Sunshine Saturday
I'm not sure whether I've got the challenge wrong here, its for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge for No Patterned paper which I haven't use but I have made my own. The cloud background is all my own work using a template, blue inkpad and a sponge.
To begin with I was only going to do the circle background of the paddling pool but I like it so much I did a whole background square.
The MS icicle punch is what I used for the grass and all the cute images are Belles and Whistles.
This is my template I used for clouds, I was with a class with the fab Jenny Mayes from Hobby Art and she had this stencil and since the company were no longer operating she let us draw round it. This was at least 6 to 7 years ago and there's a think layer on ink on this card probably why it doesn't fall apart.
It's an early start to Wales so I'm hoping Mr Blogger will forgive me for saying he wasn't my friend in the week when he hid my comments, fingers crossed.

Lemonade
It looks like that Ally Pally is on the cards, travel arrangements are being discussed it really depends if a small cheeky chappie with blonde curly hair needs some Granny love in which case I come a poor second!
For this reason I'm extending the closing date for the candy a day later and draw the winner on Sunday.

Distressing!
As soon as I saw the sketch 102 on Mojo Monday I knew I wanted another go at using my butterflies and used only two layers which I think work better when they are this small. I inked every edge I could find even the ribbon so I could enter this card in the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge of stressing, oops I mean distressing.
The papers are Cosmo Cricket Early Bird but the 6inch pack, the sweet image is Belles and Whistles. I've used the stampin up punches for the Hero Arts sentiment and a cuttlebug die for the corner.
