Lets Be Clear

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Shake It Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

 LET'S BE CLEAR

Think acetate, vellum, glossy accents, translucent embossing paste, glass etc !
We are showcasing Clearly Besotted Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

Well I couldn't think of anything original didn't help that I obviously didn't read the options for Clear lots of ideas now popping in my head. I took the easier way just using acetate.
I used an Lifestyle Whimsy embossing folder on the acetate, to be honest it was seeing this technique demo-ed encouraged me to buy Big Shot many years ago. But the thing with acetate its a b****r to photograph.

I had a real problem with choosing a Clearly Besotted item since no sooner do they arrive in Simon Says Stamp they fly off the shelves but I decided to use Easter Hoppy stamp and die set if only to prove an Easter rabbit is not just for Easter.
The paper is from Carta Bella Sew Lovely but I just used the pink dotty paper for the card as well as for my bunny. I added the middle of the Spellbinders Floral Oval for my bunny to sit in. The Hello die is a Simon Says Stamps exclusive and so is the Baby word but I cut that one out for times and stuck them together using the Xyron. By doing this it became the card stop for the easel card and the flowers which are a Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch held the other corner but any flowers would do.
To finish some pearls on the acetate which also helps with the photography.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Penny Black Case it Jenny

We have another Case it Challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge this time we've cased a gorgeous easel card from Jenny, you can see it below in pretty pink. Now the way I see case it, is seeing elements or the sketch or the colours and in this case the style and take some of it to make your card.
I just had to do an easel card, also it was a fabulous sketch then I put my bit of style onto it.
Jenny's Card

I think we're all in agreement that Easel cards are a devil to photo, so a couple more to show. I used this sweet Elephant haven't used it that often but he turned out fab. The papers once again are DCWV that I've rediscovered and the fact that they are not squared worked a treat for sketch of the card.
Daisies are Woodware punches and the butterflies are Kars. The circles are nestabilies and the border is a Stampin Up punch finished with a cuttlebug corner.

Do hope you can join us at Penny Black Saturday Challenge, we have a gorgeous Penny Black stamp and a ribbon voucher from The Ribbon Girl. Pop over to the challenge blog to check out the gorgeous creations made by the team too.

Simon Says Multifold

Hope you enjoy the Blog Hop last week at Simon Says Stamps, back to normal this week with a Multifold Simon Says Stamps challenge. I'm afraid I took the easy option and made an Easel card with the fabulous My Minds Eye papers  Lost and Found.
I cut out the the Adore from the underneath my image mat and popped it on some sticky fixers for a little bit height. Checking out my Sarah Kays images at the moment which are still available at Simon Say Stamps.
Did have a play with quite a few punches and dies too. The Martha Stewart  Cherish  punches and the one I call my Wrought Iron Fence, the Doo Hickey swirl die from Magonlia and the Cuttlebug corners. The flowers are from Simon's huge stock of Primas which I finish with coloured pearls.

Don't forget to join in and you could be in for a chance for a prize of:-

I'll be back later to link up with the Simon Says Stamps Store its having a bit of maintenance at the moment.

Spellbinders Easel Card

Oh I tried to put embellishments on but I think all these CAS are getting to me and left this Shaped card for Simon Says Stamps Challenge clean and simple.

What ever did we do before Spellbinders Nestabilities I've used the classic squares, I always use the oval and circles but forget I've got these too. I was told you only need the scallops cos you can always cut a square but I had already ordered them, it might be true but it was a lot easier to pick up the right die then fiddling trying to measure etc.
I used my favourite cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots, the sentiment is from WOJ baby word setThe Baby shoes is a Stampbilities stamp isn't it adorable and would work in Pink too. Just a piece of ribbon to finish. Then I spent the next hour puttin flowers etc on and taking them off!

Need a bit of inspiration then pop over the Simon Says Stamps Challenge and check out the teams fab creations and where we welcome Britta and Joy to the team. And look what fabulous prize you can win but don't forget you have to be in it to win it.

little boy blue

It's a blue and white challenge on Everybody Art Challenge, I was lucky to find in my papers the doodlebug cloud paper and the gingham is a scrap left after my DD used it for a baby book she made.
I love my white picket fence border from MS and the sweet little chap is a Belle and Whistles stamp.
Of course there's a bit of ribbon and although I prefer punched flowers because I love how they match the papers these are brought ones.

Do you love arty stuff and enjoy getting messy then Simon Says Stamps could be looking for you. Here's what they have to say.

We have a New Vintage styled Challenge Blog going live in August! Simon Says Stamp and Show. The new challenge is devoted to All Things Vintage! The Style is inspired by the likes of Tim Holtz, Wendy Vecchi, 7 Gypsies and Graphic 45 - among many other Vintage enthusiasts.

The Design Team Call is from now until this Friday, and we would love to hear from you! Please go HERE for the details! The new challenge is Directed by the infamous, worldly, and OOOOBER talented Linda Elbourne! We are so pleased and honored to have her join us! Thank you Linda! A couple of Easel Cards

I thought I better get this on my blog before the challenge runs out on Spoonful of Sugar who wanted a shaped card. I thought I would have a go at using a nestability for the shape. It turned out quite tinky and the little High Hopes fairy fitted pefectly, lucky for me she was all coloured up but I missed the challenge I was going to use her for.

The papers are Basic Grey Origins and the small roses from Wild Orchid.
Now on Just Magnolia they wanted a card with two folds or more and while I did experiment with an idea which didn't work as I was at my Sis and it was her card stock. I thought I'll better use it so with it I made an easel card which does have two folds. I've also used the sketch on Friday Sketchers.

Papers are My Minds Eye and I used my MS doiliy punch to go round the oval. OK I know the brown ribbon sticks out like a sore thumb but in RL its not that bad.
I've realised I didn't put a end date for the little Sarah Kay stamp so I will draw it on Friday.

Celebrate

I'm suffering from withdrawal symptons from not using flowers lately so I thought this would help and its another easel card. The image is of course Penny Black but it their slapstick ones which are brilliant value for money. Sorry about the photo but the camera is in my hands and not the tripod so the poor card thinks the boat is sinking.
I've used my new MS punch which is going to be my new fave, the papers are Kaiser. The flowers are a mixture of some from Tabbycrafts and Wild Orchid. I'm entering it into the celebrations challenge on Cute Card Thursday which is celebrating their second birthday which is amazing and also one of my favourite challenge blogs.
While Sis and BIL are in Spain (still without electric and have been kicked out of the hotel since they've no vacancies) it means my hubby isn't working for him so we done a flying visit to MIL. We didn't realise at the time its Mothers Day. Hopefully Mr Blogger has been kind and posted both my schedule posts.

Tilda Duet

Sorry I'm late, I've been waiting for some light to take a photo of my card but I think I might be in for a long wait. So sorry for the quality of the photo, I had to photoshop it. I made this not only for my DD but also for the Just Magnolia challenge for a card for someone special. I used the My Minds Eyes christmas papers, plenty of snowflakes and why have one cute Tilda when you can have two.
Another close up and below is the easel card when opened up.
I had a fabulous time at Scrapbuddies, we each brought a plate of food suitable for a buffett, there was prizes for the wearing a Christmas hat, best decorated gingerbread Snowman and Papercraft Bingo and the non alcohol mulled wine was delicious.

Mimi's Friday

Fed up with PB mice, well here's Ice Skating Mimi from Pink Gem designs instead and I've had another go at an Easel card. It's such pity these Kaiser papers don't seem to photo well they look so much better in real life. The snowflakes have been diamond dusted and the sentiment is Penny Black I saw it on some's blog and I just had to have it.

Here's a slighty better view of Mimi

Yes I know it's more Mice, this time I've use this week Mojo Monday sketch, using various papers, oh and maybe they could be my new Martha Stewart Snowflake Punches, it's a good job my Sis is too busy to go craft shopping cos I've spent most of my craft pennies.
I'm afraid its not the last of the Mice, there's another batch waiting for the stickles to dry!!!!!!!!!

SCSC Calendar

The challenge on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is to make a Calendar well has soon as I saw this I thought how perfect an Easel card would be for this. The Calendar is those cheap ones that you used to get at school to make a present for Christmas. I chose one of my fave stamps and some new Bo Bunny Papers, a few roses and job done. I love making these easel cards they so easy and fun to make.I went for the seasonal flu jab yesterday and I got the swine flu jab too, so thats two sore arms, hope they feel better tomorrow because I plan to make some bulk simple Christmas cards tomorrow.
