Pink Bird

I know a card for Friday but these cute birds from MFT called Tweet Friends arrived in my craft room and I had to make something. I got the dies to which is hand if you are going to stand the bird on coloured paper.

I also got the Sweet Stack from MFT and cut it out with one of their Stitched Hearts dies. The sentiment is a Simon says Stamp Tiny Words and using an old Freshly Made sketch my CAS is done.

Its been a quiet week apart from having my hair done Tuesday and Hubby preparing the little bedroom ready for decorating. We had some carpet left from out bedroom and should fit in this small room leaving the other double room to do. Didn't realise how much craft stash was actually in the room.

I've had another wool order delivered to make this when the pattern is released today I hope. These won't be my colours. Meanwhile I'm surging ahead with my Thursday Night Squares but I'll soon be thinking of another pattern to do.

When I plan to buy stamps for a challenge I really need to pay more attention, when I saw Honey Bee Products and I saw this duck stamp I needed to have it. The clue was in the name of the stamp Penny the Platypus but doesn't she make a cute duck. I pretty sure I've seen Penny as a duck before and that why it stuck in my head.

I used my Polychromos to colour her and I carefully cut round one wing so I could add the string to her balloons. Now here comes the use more than one stamp part I stamped the balloons from the stamp set onto the pattern paper and fussy cut them out. Forgot to mention who made the Pattern Paper its Echo Park Happy Birthday Girl.

The tiny sentiment is from Simon says Stamp Messages for Everyday and the balloon string is May Arts Natural Twine String.

Flower Cluster

A surprise fell onto my door mat last week with a die for the lastest Simon Says Stamp release Sending Sunshine. My die is called Flower Cluster which is a corner die and I have used it twice here. A small tip if you want to use twice like I have done,  decide on you sentiment and if its stamped do it before cutting the two flowers clusters or at least make sure you have enough room. I'm speaking from experience.

Once I cut the two dies I place tape behind so the sticky side was facing and I place the outline in place. I used a few of the white pieces so it looks like the background is coming through. Then I used green and dark pink card to make my leaves and flowers and yellow for the centres. For some reason I decided that one of the petal of was part of the bud and cut it in a red only to release it wasn't at all but just for today I think I can get away with it.

Since the sentiment I hoped to use didn't fit I decided to use the Message for Everyday the set is made up with these smaller sentiments for every occasion and more. Finally I used the Stitching Butterflies but I also used the body of the Adeline Butterfly.

I'm still trying to work out a better way of photographing my cards and I noticed that several blogs photo above the card and at an angle with some white wooden background. So I thought I would give it a try, need to work out the light, the picture had to be lighten quite a bit but I'm liking the wooden effect paper.

Oxide Rose

I wanted a Get Well card for a special crafty friend who has been in hospital since before Christmas, hope she is back crafting with the card ladies at the monthly crop I go to.

I already had some green smooch oxides so I made some pink ones but I didn't blend out the white. I then stamped Simon Says Stamp More Spring Flowers into the backgrounds then fussy cut them.

I love how my large bloom turned out, I also used the Simon says Stamp Summer Flowers to hide the ends of the other leaves. It was at this point I realised I needed to give the leaves some height because the proportions didn't look right.

So I put them in a vase that actually looks like a plant pot but may use the idea again. Its the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals and used the straight edge of the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banner to cut the top and bottom.

I used the Ovals to make the actual card for my bloom and I used a paintbrush and some watered down oxides to flick  over the card to make it more interesting rather than plain. The sentiment is a Paper Smooches.

get well

I needed a Get Well card for a man and I was totally stuck to think of something. In the end I made my own plasters (see the card below) I was so disappointed with the end result that as soon as my craft money could afford it I brought the MFT plasters.

I made another card but the photographer couldn't photo it right and then I kept forgetting to do it. I finally photo a card that pleased more a bit more. Aren't the dies brilliant.

I'm gutted that where I swim on Friday morning is closed for repairs so no swimming for a few weeks but I plan to sort out my 2015 photos and make some kits up. There is a crop next week and at the end of September its the retreat.

Just for Ewe

I have a few cards in my drafts waiting for them to be received before posting, in this case its for my brother. He's had to have a particular uncomfortable procedure and wanted no visitors while he recovered so I just wanted to let him know we are thinking of him.

I wanted it to be a little humourous hopefully to raise a smile which was why I used the MFT Sheep stamps and die set. My cloud is a new Memory Box die, I doubt it will be the last time of seeing it.

The birds are Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky stamps and die set, the papers are some old scrapbooking ones I decided would work for cards, I think it could be Pebbles but don't hold me to that.

So I starting a busy week with a doctors appointment this morning, since the flu like virus, my ear has been troubling me and its 5 weeks since it started I'm hoping it just wax.

I finally got my hand on Simon Says Stamp Circle of Leaves, they kept getting sold out. I was just playing with the die to see how it cut when I decided to see if I could using one of Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle afterwards and this how my centre turned out.  I cut it again so I could layer the leaves with some Foam Squares, I had to cut them down to fit and I used Zig Glue Pen to stick down the stems.

My circle needed a mat to go on and this point I knew I was going for an all white card especially has I had used a textured card. I used the Simon Say Stamps Stitched Rectangle for a finished touch round the mat.

But I needed something more I cute the Circle of Leaves again to make matching leaves and used the Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea dies, just the two smallest ones. They need some centres so I used the Simon Says Stamp Mini Flowers and Leaves.

To finish I needed a sentiment, technically its going to be a get well card but there could be further treatment and I felt this sentiment I found on the Ranunculus Stamp set   and it fitted inside one of the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners.

Finally a pearl for each flower to finish.

Get Well Blog Hop

Mmmmm my camera is playing tricks again with my Square card, looks like its a bit crooked please try and ignore it!

So for this months theme on Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop is for Get Well, decided on what image to use which is always tricky with such fabulous images but I decided on Bearly Sick F and a bit of paper piecing.

I had to print two for the pink heart paper and once for the dark pink for collar and cuffs. The belt I decided to colour along with the rest of the image.

Sometimes Get Well isn't really appropriate especially if its going to be a long journey so I used the Penny Black lots of Love die instead.

The frame is MFT and so are the daisies dies, leaves are CC designs, apart from the frame all the other dies are pretty old now and probably retired. The Stitched Wavy Scallop border is a Simon Says Stamp die.

Now I'm the start of  Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop and you need to HOP, SKIP and JUMP over to Daria. If you get lost pop over the to Dream Team Blog where the whole list is listed.

Sending you Love and Hugs

I needed a male get well card but its possible this wasn't the end of his treatment so rather than using a get well sentiment I used the Simon Says Stamp Sending die with the stamped love and hugs.

I decided to use the boat die from Simon Says Stamp along with the splashy waves die which I haven't really used much. I was really please that the sea die fitted inside the Stitched Rectangles so I could have a frame.

I used Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Skies stamps and die for my clouds and it has those fab bird stamps. To finish I used the large rectangle in Simon Says Stamp Stitched Bundle of Shapes. I then backed it with the red and white paper that came from the Doodlebug Anchors Away pad which also had the bubbles and not forgetting I paper-pieced the sails on the boat.

Bearly Sick

Oh dear I've made a big bloomer which I only discovered when I popped over to the Everybody Art Challenge to do some commenting and the post wasn't there. Apparently Everybody Art Challenge restarts after the summer today!!!
So even though you have already seen this post I'm changing the date to get me back on track, apologise to the Everbody Art Challenge Leaders.

Hurrah Everybody Art Challenge is back from our Summer Break with Earth Tones and YES I've cheated again by slipping in quite a bit of red, well some earth is red perhaps not that red but good enough for me.
So I've used the LOTV paper pack glad I had it since it was the only patterned paper that was close enough for earth tones. The sentiment is a Elizabeth Craft die but double layered.
My poorly bear is from Mo Manning called Bearly Sick there is a female version too must put that on my wish list. I think his slippers need a wash though!
Do pop over and check out the team and hope you can join us this week.
Fingers crossed this posts since we will be on our way back from MIL and I have schedule a few. I'm hoping we don't get caught with too much traffic I need to get onto Simon Says Stamp before the new Stamptember goodies get sold.

Whoops

It's more than Whoops I realise now I've used a Sketch Wednesday sketch but I believe its from two weeks ago. My image is a freebie from ages ago not even sure where it came from I want to say from Just Inklined but I would be guessing.
The papers are LOTV  and once again I've used the Crochet border from MFT and possibly the daisy but the leaf swirl is. Sentiment is LOTV once again.
Didn't do very much yesterday after a busy Saturday I knew I would have to rest up but I did get Hubby to move me back to the craftroom having looked at the weather for the next two weeks being a bit warmer fingers crossed I manage to stay there now.

Bernard

I adore this cute St Bernard and very apt at the moment with my DD skiing. You can get him from Mo Manning's shop here.
Foolish I decided to make a male get well card and thats when I got stuck but the LOTV Nitwit papers were perfect but deciding on embellishment well there aren't any. Just a few faux brads and knotted bit of ribbon.
Just quick post today off to find a comfortable place and planning to take it easy, that way I'll feel back to normal, well what normal for me.

Singin' in the rain on Monday

I had issues with the latest sketch from Sketch and Stash couldn't get the angles right for the bottom mat and after wasting a sheet I decided just to go for a rectangle at angle, then my image mat almost total hid it.
But isn't this image so cute its Singin' in the rain from Mo Manning and the papers are Wild Rose which was fabulous gift from a very good friend.
I made the daisies with Woodware and circle punches and then I lost the plot, just couldn't work out what  else I could put on the card. I left the sentiment off cos it would work for Thinking of you and Get well so if ones of those occasions pop up it will be easy to add to the card.
Had a fab day and my mini book gift is almost sorted just need a few flowers and things and it will be done. The day ended with a very nice meal out.
Only wished the night was has good, I've had the worst night sleep ever and in the end I've got up at silly o'clock wouldn't mind but the night before wasn't that good either, this won't help Mr Mojo and Mr Motivator. I expect they'll be both sulking in the corner again.

Monochrome

It's a Monochrome challenge this week on Everybody Art Challenge and the Papermania blue capsule papers made this challenge easy to do.
I've used a Saturated Canary image One of those Days which is why I thought the blue papers were perfect. The sentiment is a woodware one and the Martha Stewart deep edge doily punch had an outing too. A few flowers and a bit of experiment with scroll punch from Ek success.
Still experimenting with her hair but I don't think my camera skills help.
Do hope you can pop over to see what the team have made and that you can join us.
Had a funny old day yesterday and didn't go into my craftroom except to get my new Memory Box dies to show a friend my new ones.
Fingers crossed I'll feel motivated and make a couple of cards today.

In the Garden

In the Garden is the the challenge this week over at Everybody Art Challenge and Lemonade Stamps are sponsoring us again. I've used the same stamp as last week but I chopped off her balloons and coloured her instead of paper piecing.
The papers are perfect for the In the garden since the ones I use have strawberries on them promptly covered the up but the scallop one I actually cut and them edged them with a matching pen so you can't see my awful cutting out.
There was some paper that looked like wood so I used the Martha Stewart picket fence border punch using that worked a treat but I also used it for my swirl (Magnolia doo hickey one) I chopped it up in two pieces to make it work behind the flower.
Do check out the the team and we would love for you to join us.

Donkey Smiles

What a wonderful idea over on Spoonful of Sugar to have a card drive for Michelle of Donkey Smiles, if you haven't heard Michelle has had an awful accident and has lost an eye. You can read about it here as you do you will realised that Michelle is amazing and has a wonderful postive attitude.
You can download this cute donkey and some sweet quotes from Whimsy Stamps, I'm so glad I can use him. I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and the papers are Crate papers, the doiliy I brought on e-bay they are quite think so I used two together. Not forgetting my usual suspects some ribbon and flowers.
I hope Michelle gets sack loads of cards, this one won't be going till Tuesday when my Hubby goes to the PO for me.
Oh I was a lucky girl yesterday I won some digi images from Whimsy Stamps, good job I brought that printer and then I went to check the new challenge on LOTV  and there in front of me was my name I won two stamps. Have you seen Jacqui's blog she's been using the new Christmas stamps, oh they're so cute.

Phew

Whoa what a busy weekend, no card or time to blog yesterday and I've cheated a bit today with combining two challenges, Penny Black Saturday challenge for a Get Well Card and Sketch Saturday's sketch. I love this bunny, she was brought when I couldn't colour PB stamps very well so I knew I probably wouldn't ever use her but love her just the same. I so please that my colouring has improved so much that she can be used. Of course the hat just cried out to be 3d and those lovely spring papers of Imaginesce from last year, the flowers are from Poppicrafts and the brads picked up over the weekend on the £1 stalls.

I'm in such a pickle, all the goodies brought over the weekend from the show and MJ's Every Moment Matters shop, also everything I took to crop with (and didn't use) has to be put away and just basically catching up especially with my blog list who I just haven't visited lately like I usually do. I've also got a lot of rubber to be mounted onto ez mount, not just my WOJ spring kit but the medieval set too (arrived on Saturday) and some Alota rubber too, good job I brought plenty of ez mount from Joanne Sheen shop.

And before I forget this award has been sent to me by Heather, many thanks.
