Music

My least favourite challenge on Less is More, One Layer, I could almost cope with the Music theme. I have a set of Inkadinkdoo stamp set so I blew the dust off. I did have issues for some reason I wanted to use nealy every stamp and my resistance was low. This was the third attempt. I masked the guitar and a border and stamped a Hero Arts music stamp and using the same ink I blended down one side. Hopefully I was able to stop in time to call it Less is more.

Unlike my second attempt, the first went in the bin, I decided this wasn't Less is More and rather than waste it place it on matching cardstock.

Pink and Brown

I honestly didn't think I would get time before we went up to MIL to make a Less is More card. But I managed two very quick and simple cards.
I'm still practising with the Gelatos but they're brilliant when you mist than on the stamps. Here's two Pink and Brown ones for the challenge using Unity Stamps and a Stampin Up sentiment.
One with ribbon and one with out. Oh the bottom stamp is Indadinkdo.

Here below are the my first attempts I don't think using yellow what a good idea doesn't show up so well. But they will make great little packs of Thank You cards to sell at Mums Nursing Home.
Just realised I won't be here to link them but I did have fun making them.

Blue and Green Snowflakes!

Another CAS that I will make quite a few for a Mum's Care Home Christmas Fair because it was so quick but I might need shares in the company of makes the pearls.
The snowflakes are Inkadinkado and again I used the same inkpads as the post earlier, well they were on my desk, so I think this can tick the Less is More Challenge boxes.
But I did CASE it from a card I saw on Pinterest although they hadn't added the pearls but these snowflakes cried out for them.
All finished with my favourite Stampin Up sentiment.
Summer has returned for a few days at least, I'll give it a day and we will be moaning its too hot!!!!!!

Blue and Green

I've recently got some Inkadinkdo Meadow stamps from Simon says Stamps and they've been sat on my desk. With the blue and green Less is More challenge it was a reason  to play with them.
I stamped them with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder and then used the Stampin Up inkpads Pear Piazza and Bashful Blue.
Just added my mini scallop border and a Stampin up sentiment which looks a bit wishy washy but thats because the crooked photographer had to straighten the card Picasa which I'm sure what makes it that way.
I did make another card but things got out of hand and it can't be called less is more so I save that for another day.

The Birds

Remind next time not to feel smug when reading about people have problems with blogger because this morning I must have torn out several strands of hair. I think possibly that it was my internet connection, along with a slow PC. But here are the Less is More Bird cards I made last night, when looking for stamps I found this Inkadinkado Bird and Owl set so instead of one card I made several!.
This is my favourite and so simple, just put different coloured gems in the flowers it does look better in real life and my Hero Arts sentiment isn't wishy washy either.
I think it was Chrissy who made a card with an embossed oval so I thought I would give it a try and just added some tiny jet gems with the sentiment.
So now we're getting inky, again I saw that someone had just done the corner but they done things a bit more arty than me. I have used Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender distress inks.
So here's my failures not sure if it was the inkpad I used was just too inky or that the stamps were new and not dirty even with Versamark stamped on first.
Another favourite is the Owl, this time I punched a circle to ink round to make the moon. The tree was Stampin Up unfortunately didn't realise that the Memories inkpad was that new and was very inky so the trees are a bit splugy but I still love it.

Let is snow

Now you may be thinking this can't be my Less is More Let it Snow card but this is what it would look like if it wasn't one layer. There is something in my head that CAS like this need to be framed with a piece of matching coloured card.

So this is my Less is More entry, the stamps are Inkadinkado but from different sets. The sentiment is from Christmas Silhouettes and the snowflake is from the snowflake a plenty set.
Just a gem for the centre finished the entry and added some navy pearls for the one above.

Happiness is a Butterfly

When I read the challenge on Less is More this butterfly stamp immediately came to mind, just needed time to make it. Then when I did I had problems with new wet pad and the fact that the Inkadinkadoo stamp was clear.
Eventually I tried Versamark inkpad on the stamp and then used the coloured inkpad it helped but I didn't get the even coverage I would of like but now I was wondering if I was just being fussy. There was no way I could leave the butterflies just flat so I picked three to layer but I did take the the gems off!
The words I've had for ages possibly one of the first unmounted ones I ever got.
The card is straight and so are the words its the photographer who is having problems!
So today I will keep checking the telly to watch Kate and Wills get married and I wish them many happy years together.

Tilda and a card or two

I seemed to have abandoned my Magnolias lately so to remedy this I made this card originally for Tilda and Edwin but realised that Tilda was slightly bigger so I'm going to have to use him on another card. The challenge on Stamp with Fun this week is for Pink and Brown and it was only by chance that I found these papers, I was looking for some papers for my CJ and I found the papers I brought last year especially for cardmaking wondered where they went. They are Kelly Panacci papers, the sketch is from Bea she makes brilliant sketches. The sentiment is Francoise Read stamps from Woodware, the middle is interchangeable

I also popped over the CPS challenge blog to check out the sketch#111 and it immediately made think of this Inkadinkado stamp set. I stamped with a Kaleidacolor pad and just layered a couple of the wings, it was one of quickest cards I've made in a long time, its a pity the camera doesn't show how striking the colours are.
The new cooker comes today so hubby has disconnected our old one but he had a bit of shock when he opened the cover at the back inside was a very dead mouse now we know why it didn't work.
