The Kiss

I finally managed to make a card for the new Everybody Art Challenge this week its a sketch.

Now I've photograph my card I realised my bit of ribbon should of matched the hat instead of her dungarees. The sweet image is Sarah Kay from Stampavie which is so sad they are no longer with us but I won't be parting with any of my favourites

The papers are some odd ones I have, I've had a good sort out of my 6inch paper packs and trying to use the odd ones first.

My butterflies and flowers are the circles on the sketch and for the first card made since I've been ill, I'm quite pleased how it turned out.

Do pop over and check out the team, also hope you can join us this week.

For Mum

We travel back from MIL today not sure now thats a good idea, four hours in the card dwelling on the fact its Mum's Birthday and the first one she's not here to celebrate. But I did make her card although I did smile when I realised that she would prefer some glitter somewhere, anywhere.

I chose the Sarah Kay image with her tray teapot and cups, she did love offer a cup of tea to whoever knocked on her door and when she couldn't make it any more she'll get my Dad to make it.

The Oval is from Spellbinders and the leaves are Memory Box Fresh Foliage still a favourite with me. The flowers are EK Success punch. My cup/mug is from Simon Says Stamp but the saucer is from MFT teapot stamp and die set.

The sentiment is a Simon Say Stamp set and I had planned to make a fishtail banner but then last minute tried it across the corner and liked it so it stayed.

Happy Birthday Mum

Sarah Kay

This card took some thinking, the new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge is to use a bookpage preferably not the one someone is reading. I use an e reader, some of the tombs I read are too heavy to hold and the mini e reader is much lighter. Anyway I'm going off topic the book page I've used is some patterned paper that is actually made that way, yes I know I'm cheating a bit but it still has writing on.
I used it has my main mat, distressed it and I added distress and torn patterned paper, making sure that some words are showing.
I used a Sarah Kay stamp inside a floral oval which I cut out the centre to make a frame. My biggest mistake of course there is one is the flower I decided I didn't like but had made the hole for the pearl brad so there it had to stay.
I didn't want to use a sentiment because I felt it could work for more than just a Birthday but that meant a large empty space next to the image so I used the Ivy die from Sue Wilson. Oh I forget to mention my lace and ribbon, have now.
Do pop over and check out the team also hope you can join us.

Shabby Chic

The weeks are rushing by and its time for a new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge, this week  is for Shabby Chic. To be honest this isn't that Shabby, the papers are some old ones from Stamping Up its design and the added lace gives the card that look, the Sarah Kay image helps too.
For a change I've used the doily punch for the decorated edge round the image and the corners are La La Land ones.
Do pop over to check out the team and hope you can join us this week.

Hoping to be up to making a card today, wasn't up to it yesterday.

Corners

New challenge on Everybody Art Challenge and this week is for Corners so its a chance to use my favourite ones from Cuttlebug from a very long time ago and I believe they are no more.
My papers I have no idea, I'm down to a few sheets and the front cover as long disappeared. I also used a Memory Box corner with some added pearls and punched flowers. All finished with another favourite of lace and ribbon which is perfect for Sarah Kay image.
Do pop over and check out the team and hope you can join in.

I had a couple of cards that needed to be done yesterday, I was impressed with one when a sneaky thought entered my head that I used the same image for someone last year. Did a bit of check and yes I had so I have take off the special sentiment and put a normal Birthday one. Decided to get a couple more images from Dr Digi for the purpose one my husband said no to and the other my blasted printer one of the colours run out of ink. I always have a set in hand but some reason either I can't find it or I forgot to replace either way, I still have a special card to make.

Pretty Colours

I've recently had a senior moment and had to switch cards for the new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge so instead of the quick card this morning I've a more fussy card.
I do love my Sarah Kay stamps and don't think I will ever be able to part with them. The papers are Authentique and it seemed to cry out for a bit of lace.
The leaf circle is a Memory box die that I've rediscovered and the flowers are Bella Bloom die from Simon Says Stamp.

Didn't bother with a title, I will probably give it to as a Mother's Day card but to a lady who isn't a mother to me or my hubby but a very good friend.
I'll be back at 1pm since the clocks went back in the US at the weekend with the new Simon Says Stamp Challenge.

Reusing again

The last of the two Sarah Kay images that I'm re-using but I had to change the mat behind the image and to do that I had to pull off the border. Luckily for me it worked ok.
The Sketch started as the latest Sketchy Challenge but I added ribbon and lace it seemed a shame not to. I'll still add it to the challenge and leave it to the DT to decide whether it is not eligible
Since the Bella Bloom and the bit of the Harrington Vine from Simon Says Stamps and had to add some on the side to balance the card.
Off to swimming later with The Friday Swimmers which is a disabled swimming club but gosh its hard work when you wake up at silly o'clock and you have to make the effort guess I better have another mug of coffee.

Reusing Sarah Kay Part One

Well I'm not sure what happened yesterday but I published my post at a time when Mr Virgin kept dropping out till it went out altogether and somehow it never got published till I realised much later in the day. So fingers cross he behaves this morning.
Remember my Tri Shutter card that wouldn't stand that found its way in the bin well here's one of the girls I saved and turned it into a another card.
I've still used the Authentique Renew papers and the sketch is from The Sketchy Challenge and I used the Joy Butterflies Border. I had been searching for the butterflies for ages and ended up buying it from e-Bay.

The flowers are Bella Bloom from Simon Says Stamp and the Birthday sentiment is Stampin Up along with the punches for it.
Well a bit of migraine yesterday pretty much left me tired all day so never made it to my craftroom not sure what I'm up to doing today but I reckon I cold at least use the other Sarah Kay.

Tri Shutter Card

We moved to wordpress so don't forget to update your bookmarks

This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

ANYTHING GOES

We are showcasing our very own Simon's Exclusive Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

First a bit of a warning this is picture heavy its really tricky photo-ing a Tri-Fold Card.

So I decided to use Sarah Kay some of my favourites the first one is Elodie in her garden
and the one below is Rose's garden.

The papers are Authentique Renew and two of the panels I've used

The centre panel is using the cloud from the Talk Bubbles die from Simon Says Stamps dies and I also used the Happy and All Ocassion banner set from Simon too.  The sentiment is out of my stash though so just proves you don't have to always used the stamps that can come with the die although there is some great ones that come with it but the plan was to give this to my Mum for her Birthday and I thought a swirly one was more appropriate.

Had to use a couple of butterflies and the Simon Says Stamps Leanna is my favourite even over the memory box ones but it doesn't have the body so I use a memory box one.
Now I did have a bit of problem and not just photo-ing my card I made the top and bottom too small
and with the weight of my layers it wouldn't stand up, that will be why its propped up against the kitchen tiles!!!!!!!
So the top and bottom should be at least 1 1/2 inches deep not 1 inch like I have and I possibly needed
2 inches but at the time I was thinking of making the middle panel has large has I could.
So I'm afraid after the photo was taken it found its way in the shhhhhhhhhhh (bin). Its not all bad I salvage the two Sarah Kays so you may find a card on my blog using the girls soon.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog. Also you need to link to the challenge in your post or you won't be eligible for the prize.

Summer Food & Drink

we have moved to Wordpress so don't forget to update you bookmarks.

This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

SUMMER FOOD AND DRINK

Think BBQ's, Cocktails, whatever you like to eat and drink during those long hot summer days ,,,, :-)Thanks Joy for this yummy Inspiration Board

We are showcasing Hero Arts this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

As always Heidi will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

So now to my card which could have worked for last weeks challenge of By the Sea, I've used the sweet Sarah Kay Picnic of Daisies.
I saw Lols had mad a sun out of the Simon Says Stamps Exclusive Sunshine die and I just knew I had to have it too, lucky for me it arrived just in time for my card. I used a nestabilities to make the sun once I used the die and the centre was embossed to give raised look.
The dotty paper is from Here and Now from Echo park and my fence was from MFT. Yes that is the Lavish Branch and the flowers are Fancy Blossoms from Memory Box.
My Ice Creams are a Hero Arts stamp set called Fantastic Birthday and I paper pieced them and I decided I needed a Fab ice lolly like I used to remember so I used some mixed micro beads in my stash and cover the top of it. I don't seemed to get my hands on Accent Beads anymore so they were brought on e-bay for nail art.

Another view of my card at a jaunty angle.

Pearls

Nice easy challenge this week on Everybody Art Challenge we're looking for Pearls and if you follow my blog regularly you will know I use pearls a lot.
The image is of course Sarah Kay and the papers are Echo Park not sure what set, I've lost the front cover, after this card just have enough of one more card.
My favourite border die from MFT Crochet Die and I've used the Harrington Vine from Simon Says Stamps with some tiny punched flowers. Sentiment another favourite from LOTV.
I've used the pearls on my flowers and on the background papers and the card is finished with some lace and  contrasting ribbon.
Do hope you can join us this week and don't forget to check out the team.

Anything Goes

Time for new challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

 and this week its
Anything Goes
The team is also using Impression Obsession products but thats not a requirement for the challenge just the DT chance to show what amazing products Simon Says Stamps have in their store.

So onto my card, I very cheekily used the Friday Sketch Challenge it was perfect to show off the fabulous Impression Obsession Border Duo 2 die with added compulsory pearls.
The papers are Bo Bunny Isabella and the sweet couple are Sarah Kay Laura and Henri. Since the image is quite large and I've used quite a bit for my border I used the very useful Harrington Vine from Simon Says Stamps just added some roses to make it look pretty.
The finishing touch with the perfect sentiment I used the All Occasion stamp and die set, I know this is out of stock but Simon Say Stamps are waiting for some more to arrive.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog. Also you need to link to the challenge in your post or you won't be eligible for the prize.

Another Sarah Kay

I can't remember whose sketch I've used here but since I made this card last week it probably past the deadline but I don't really enter the challenge to win I just enjoy the challenge to make the card.
I've rediscovered some paper which I haven't been able to cut into but now that they are a few years old its not so hard to use them. But be warned there is quite a few of this set and I'm planning on being thrifty and use them all up.
The stamp is Sarah Kay they're my favourite stamps and timeless. You can see I've used the Memory box Blooming Violet again, it looks cute in the corner, also the Memory box hanging hearts. The MFT triple border die but I've used two of the three and finished with the Whimsy corners.
Just wanted to thank everyone for the lovely comments yesterday, you're all so kind.

Anything Goes

Time for new challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

 and this week its
Anything Goes
The team is also using Tim Holtz products but thats not a requirement for the challenge just the DT chance to show what amazing products Simon Says Stamps has in their store.

I love seeing Tim Holtz creations they are truly stunning but there is no way I can even come close to making anything that brilliant I know I've tried. But that doesn't mean I don't use his products and when I the things I've sought after is the Bricked embossing folder I've seen some fabulous cards using this so don't be surprised to see it often.
I was going use the ragged floral dies but I do love the fleur de lys Hardware Findings and the border I used the brackets on the edge which I sometimes use more often on mini books.
Lots of inking round the edges of the Kaiser Pickled Pear papers using distress inkpad and the sweet Sarah Kay image called Barbette Sewing .
The usual suspects to finish like the roses and bit of ribbon, the sentiment though was using a Spellbinder label set called Labels 7 but I used the same die and just drew round it to make the coloured mat since the next size up was a bit too big.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog.
