Birthday Cake

I needed a Birthday card  and finally decided on using this cake die from Sizzix. I’m not keen with with cream on white but in this case it helped the cake to stand out. I looked on Pinterest for ideas and loved the fact that someone made the top two tiers to tilt.

The flowers came with the set but I made the sentiment on the pc, I’m sure I had a relevant sentiment somewhere but could find it. The background is from Simon Says Stamp.

I’ve had a count up of my Christmas cards it’s official I may need to buy cards this year.

Skating Shoes

The sleigh and skates are from Spellbinder but the background is a Sizzix embossing folder and the sentiment is from The Greetery.

I really think I need to get out all my finished Christmas cards to see how many I’ve done. I make approximately 100 some get discarded because I don’t think they are good enough.

Winter Panels

Weeks ago there was a sketch from Freshly Made Sketch which inspired these cards although it was week later. I cut strips out of card and edged together the different colours then use an embossing fold in this case it was a Sizzix snowflakes one.

Then I cut them to size and using a grass die cut out the sparkling icicle border. The pink cards had a stamped large snowflake from MFT and the blue one had an old Simon says Stamp snowflake die. Sentiment from The Greetery which has become this years Christmas sentiment.

I got quite a few cards made with these strips it’s got to a point I need to count out how many I’ve done.

Happy Snowman with Blue Trees

Same card but in turquoise blue and I added pearls for berries in the holly. No dirty marks so no snowflakes.

Happy Snowman with Green Trees

I think almost £30 for a die is a bit steep for my budget which why I put him on my Birthday list. He is a nice looking snowman. Quite large so really doesn’t need much on the card.

The snowman is a Sizzix die and the 3d embossing folder again from Sizzix with a touch of pattern paper round the edge. The sentiment is MFT, I’m pretty sure I added the tiny snowflakes because there is a dirty mark on the snowman and added a few more so it wasn’t alone.

Gardening

I’m rather pleased how this card turned out. Just as well it took ages to make. A lot of fiddly bits to layer and inked the edges to as well as embossed on the back to give a more rounder finish.

All the gardening detail is Sizzix but I used a MFT frame and the brick wall was using a stencil possibly Waffleflower but it’s lost it’s packaging. If there was one thing I could change would be the sentiment it needed layering to help it stand out better.

Mistletoe and Holly

A couple of clean and simple Christmas cards using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this week. I couldn’t find a square sentiment so that part of the sketch became a rectangle using the Simon Says Stamp Inside Christmas Greetings stamp set.

The holly and mistletoe are Sizzix dies, the holly I used die cut berries and the I used self adhesive pearls for the mistletoe.

Hubby is off to get his second jab this morning and I get mine at the end of May.

Quick Dinosaur Card!

I had to make a quick card for a boy card, so made the Tim Holtz Sizzix Dinosaurs with the World die also from Tim Holtz Sizzix.

All the different colours were made using Oxides, lucky the colours have worn off my hands now especially with all this extra hand washing.

Sizzix Robin

Sorry for the yellowy white card having real problems photo white cards which is a pain since I love white cards a lot.

While I was smooching on Amazon I saw this robin and decided he could be useful well 6 cards useful. He was a bit fiddly to assembly especially as I decided to ink round the die cuts to make him more life like.

The Holly and Mistletoe swirl is Cheery Lynn, I think and my sentiment is a clear LOTV. I dotted his eye with a white pen and I played with my corner punch to make a bit more interest in what is a plain card.
