I remember listening to this song on repeat when I was abused. I never fully comprehended the lyrics until my escape, and I think the reason why I feel so emotionally attached to it is because the lyrics resonate with me wanting an escape so badly. When I did, the lyrics felt almost like a foreshadowing. It's a song that brings me comfort and I'll always be grateful for it.
