‘It’ (2017)
The series premiere of It: Welcome to Derry is just a few days away, making now the perfect time to revisit 2017’s It ahead of the prequel’s debut. It, directed by Welcome to Derry director and producer Andy Muschietti, is a new introduction to one of Stephen King’s most haunting villains: Pennywise the Dancing Clown, as played by Bill Skarsgård. Set in 1989, the film follows a group of seven teens in Derry, Maine who are terrorized by Pennywise throughout one fateful summer, as they’re forced to confront their own personal demons in addition to the lurking evil. While you’re at it, throw on It: Chapter Two as well; the second part of the story follows the same seven friends 27 years later as Pennywise returns like clockwork.
