Start typing and the list narrows, wherever the files sit — not only the folder you're browsing. Six filters sit above the list: category, duration, channels, bit depth, sample rate, size.
Hear it before you use it
Select a file and it loads into the waveform player. Space plays, the arrow keys move through the list, and Play Through auditions the whole filtered selection hands-free.
Drag it into your DAW
Drag one file or a whole selection from the list straight into your DAW, or anything else that accepts files from Finder or Explorer. Your DAW decides whether to copy or reference — Depot never touches the file.
Categorise a whole selection at once
Give a sample a category icon — kick, snare, hi-hat, clap, vox, loop — or star it as a favourite. Select as many files as you like and categorise them in one go; categories and favourites survive every rescan.
Built for collections that got out of hand
The list stays smooth at 100,000+ files, because it only renders the rows you can see. Scanning runs in the background, and the app stays usable while it works.
Shrink it down and keep it next to the DAW
Compact mode hides every panel, packs the rows tight, and pins the window on top of everything else. Search, audition, drag, and go back to the track — Depot never covers more of the screen than it needs.
