Left in the Dark is a three-year long storytelling journey through grief and recovery from a traumatic near-death experience.

While riding a bicycle in March of 2022, I was struck from behind by a vehicle that fled the scene, leaving me for dead. I sustained life changing injuries, including a spinal chord injury, several fractured vertebrae, a traumatic brain injury and many other fractures.

After being treated at a Toronto-area trauma centre, I began to embrace the healing forces of music- and immediately recognized the power it held as a visualization aide, motivator for rehabilitation, and as an outlet for creative expression.

The album highlights some of the shock and disbelief, anger and frustration, depression and sadness, that come with healing from this sort of thing- and then it moves toward the beautiful parts that can also come from a story like mine- including new discoveries, new strengths, and new relationships.
