Roaring aulos, Cerberus of amplifiers, the trio Saint Thomas makes its way through the dense forest of harmonics conjured by their bagpipes. At once layers of sonic states and improvisations of timbre, Saint Thomas chooses to place radical trust in music and its processes.
A trio of electrified and amplified bagpipes. Members of Tanz Mein Herz, La Novià, or La Tène, Louis Jacques (cabrette), Pierre-Vincent Fortunier (béchonet), and Jacques Puech (cabrette) delve into the timbres of their instruments, their relations, and their confrontations. They play with the drones and with the space in which they project themselves. The result is a dense and penetrating forest of harmonics and difference tones, yielding a sound outcome that is explosively powerful.
