  • The protocol in Nursing is the set of actions that serve as a strategy to unify criteria and jointly agree on the approach to different techniques, therapies and/or nursing problems, based on the most recent scientific evidence. Its constant updating and development has allowed its frontiers to expand to new applications in the field of oncology, objective. To provide nursing staff with a methodological tool to facilitate the well-being and quality of life of patients with cancer in clinical trials. Method. An update of the nursing action protocols and a review of the literature in the outpatient chemotherapy room was carried out during the period from January 2019 to July 2024. The NANDA, NIC, NOC taxonomies were used to carry out the care process.Results. The nursing care plan functions as a necessary means of communication for patient care, with planning and compliance based on nursing diagnoses. The most frequent symptoms presented in these patients were: bone marrow involvement, nausea and vomiting, stomatitis, diarrhea, neuropathy and stress, for which a course of action was established.Conclusions. Nursing action protocols constitute a work tool and health education, training and specialized care are fundamental pillars to achieve a safe and effective treatment.
