El propósito de esta investigación es indagar los cambios en la representación de las razas en los informativos divulgados en la plataforma sociales YouTube, en los países andinos: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador y Perú. Las preguntas de investigación son ¿YouTube muestra cambios en la representación de las razas respecto a la televisión tradicional?, ¿en los informativos de la televisión de los países andinos hay representación equitativa de los grupos étnicos?, ¿los afrodescendientes continúan asociados a la información de violencia? La metodología es cuantitativa, de alcance exploratorio, a través de análisis de contenidos de las notas emitidas en los segmentos informativos. Las variables indagadas son tema de la noticia, raza de los reporteros, raza de las fuentes y tipos de fuentes. Se concluye que hay tareas, protocolos y formación por cumplir hacia un equilibrio en las representaciones de la televisión que derive en tolerancia y valores cívicos.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the changes in the representation of race in the news broadcasted on social media platforms, particularly YouTube, in the Andean countries (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru). The research questions are: Does YouTube show changes in the representation of races with respect to traditional TV? Are ethnic groups equally represented in the television news in the Andean countries? Are people of African descent still associated with information on violence? The methodology is quantitative, with an exploratory scope, through content analysis of the notes broadcasted in the news segments. The variables investigated are the subject of the news, race of the reporters, race of the sources and types of sources. It is concluded that there are tasks, protocols, and training to be fulfilled towards a balance in television representations leading to tolerance and civic values.
