    En 2020, se cumplió el centenario del nacimiento de una mujer, Rosalind Franklin, cuyos trabajos de difractometría de rayos X contribuyeron significativamente a la elucidación estructural de la molécula de ADN, del virus del mosaico del trabajo, poliovirus y otros. Algo semejante ocurrió con Lise Meitner, respecto de la fisión nuclear. Los honores se los llevaron los otros miembros del equipo. Posiblemente su condición de mujeres, y otras, influyeron en tamaña injusticia. En su momento, a juicio del autor, dichos trabajos no fueron reconocidos como se merecían y, hoy día, aún bastante bibliografía las ignora.

    2020 marked the centenary of the birth of a woman, Rosalind Franklin, whose work in X-ray diffraction contributed significantly to the structural elucidation of the DNA molecule, the mosaic virus, poliovirus, and others. Lise Meitner did the same for nuclear fission. However, the honors went to other members of the team. Possibly their status as women, among other factors, played a role in such an injustice. At the time, in the author's opinion, these works were not recognized as they deserved to be, and today, they are still largely ignored in the literature.
