    Modernity was a historical period of great effervescence, marked by a profound rupture with the medieval world and the rise of new forms of political and economic organization, which changed not only the structure of social institutions, but also the individual's perceptions of themselves. and the relationships between individuals and the public sphere. This article aimed to analyze the problem of the concept of economy and ecology, based on the understanding of address, outlined by a new ethical paradigm. The objective was to study the specialized literature of the etymological root of the words “economy” and “ecology”. As a result, it was highlighted that ecology becomes, in the 21st century, a moral duty for thinkers from all areas, both within their own field and in an interdisciplinary way, investment in human projects that make it possible in harmony with the project Earth. It is concluded that current economic thinking is only focused on managing the “artificial world” created by humans, not worrying about the health and balance of the natural world. The methodological procedure is bibliographic and documentary based on qualitative, exploratory, descriptive and inductive research.

    A Modernidade foi um período histórico de grande efervescência, marcado pela profunda ruptura com o mundo medieval e pela ascensão de novas formas de organização política e econômica, que alteraram não apenas a estrutura das instituições sociais, mas também as percepções do indivíduo acerca de si mesmo e as relações entre os indivíduos e a esfera pública. O presente artigo se destinou analisar a problemática do conceito de economia e ecologia, a partir da compreensão de morada, delineado por um novo paradigma ético. Objetivou-se o estudo da literatura especializada da raiz etimológica das palavras “economia” e “ecologia”. Como resultado, destacou-se sobre a ecologia se torna, no século XXI, um dever moral para os pensadores de todas as áreas, tanto no âmbito de seu próprio campo quando de forma interdisciplinar, investimento em projetos humanos que viabilizam em harmonia com o projeto Terra. Conclui-se que o pensamento econômico atual está voltado apenas à administração do “mundo artificial” criado pelo humano, não se preocupando com a sanidade e equilíbrio do mundo natural. O procedimento metodológico é bibliográfico e documental partindo-se da pesquisa qualitativa, exploratória, descritiva e indutiva.
