2022 is the European Year of Youth, an EU initiative on the importance of youth to building abetter future. Social entrepreneurship is becoming very attractive to young generations. Bybecoming social entrepreneurs, young people contribute to the economy, unlock their skills,and contribute to shaping Europe’s future. Young generations’ contribution is very meaningfulwhen it comes to the twin transition, bringing them to the heart of the upcoming economictransformation. Young social entrepreneurs can also have a great role in facing youthunemployment, creating decent and fair jobs and promoting social inclusion and innovation.However, there is a need to better outline the skills and profiles of the young entrepreneurs tounderstand if policies and tools are answering their needs. This paper aims at profiling theyoung social entrepreneur while making an overview of the main EU level policy instrumentsand tools that address this topic.
