    El siguiente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el papel que desempeñó el político liberal Miguel Villanueva y Gómez (1852-1931) en la oposición civil a la dictadura de Primo de Rivera. Recogiendo el contexto y la retórica antidemocrática de la época, examinaremos las declaraciones públicas del exministro liberal a través de la prensa y de otras fuentes primarias entre 1923 y 1930. Su figura en esta etapa es crucial, puesto que se erigió como uno de los pocos defensores del sistema parlamentario español. Con el tiempo se manifestó públicamente sin ambages contra el nuevo gobierno, la moda del régimen presidencialista y la Asamblea Nacional

    Artikuluaren helburu nagusia Miguel Villanueva y Gómez (1852-1931) politikari liberalak Primo de Riveraren diktaduraren aurka egin zuen lana aztertzea da. Garaiko testuinguru eta erretorika antidemokratikoa kontuan hartuta, ministro ohiaren adierazpenak aztertuko ditugu, prentsaren eta lehen mailako beste iturri batzuen bitartez. 1925. urtea, Alhucemasen lehorreratzea gertatu eta diktadura instituzionalizatzen hasi zen urtea, funtsezkoa izango zen politikariarentzat eta bere kide konstituzionalistentzat.     The main aim of this article is to analyse the role played by the liberal politician Miguel Villanueva y Gómez (1852-1931) in the opposition to Primo de Rivera's dictatorship. Taking into account the context and the anti-democratic rhetoric of the time, we will examine the former minister's statements through the press and other primary sources. The year 1925, in which the Al Hoceima disembarkation took place and the Dictatorship began to be institutionalised, was to be fundamental for the politician and also for his constitutionalist colleagues. The figure of Miguel Villanueva in this stage of Spanish history is crucial, as he was one of the few defenders of the nineteenth-century Spanish parliamentary system and publicly and unambiguously spoke out against the fashion for the presidentialist regime and the National Assembly. The article lists the main acts of civil and public opposition to the regime by the former dynastic politicians.
