Problema y programa de Platón ante la retórica algorítmica del CHATBOT

    Aunque en enero de 2025 el chatbot chino DeepSeek renovó el interés sobre las posibilidades de la Inteligencia Artificial de sustituir a la humana, el nuevo motor no ha modificado los términos morales del debate. Eludimos la discusión sobre el dominio geopolítico de la tecnología para centrar el tema en las diferencias entre progresión artificial y constante humana. La cuestión es hasta dónde puede suplantar la aceleración tecnológica a la inteligencia en la construcción del discurso. Si puede hacerlo plenamente fue discutido en 2023 por Roberts, profesor de Cambridge, Watumull, especialista en IA, y el afamado lingüista Chomsky en un polémico artículo abierto a lectores en The New York Times. Recurriendo a la concepción platónica de Humboldt de la lengua como conjunto de medios finitos para usos infinitos mostraron que la capacidad tecnológica no es equiparable a la creatividad humana. Ortega y Gasset entronca con el programa platónico y con Humboldt para argumentar igualmente que la máquina irá por detrás del lenguaje humano porque los automatismos lingüísticos, por ser retóricos, son irreductibles a una completa mecanización, recuperando así la tradición platónica del arte como aprendizaje mimético cuyo resultado es un original artístico.

    In January 2025, the Chinese chatbot DeepSeek renewed the interest in the possibilities of Artificial Intelligence to replace human intelligence, which does not mean that the new engine has modified the moral question concerned by the debate. We avoid the geopolitical discussion on technological dominance to focus on the issue of the difference between artificial progression and the human condition. The issue is to what extent technological acceleration can supplant intelligence in the construction of discourse. In 2023, Roberts, a professor at Cambridge, Watumull, an AI specialist, and the famous linguist Chomsky discussed this issue in a controversial article open to readers in The New York Times. Based on Humboldt’s Platonic conception that language is a set of finite means for infinite uses, they showed that technological capacity is not comparable to human creativity. Ortega y Gasset also drew on the Platonic program and Humboldt to argue that the machine will always lag behind human use because linguistic automatisms are rhetorical and irreducible to complete mechanization. Thus, he returned to the Platonic tradition of art as mimetic learning whose product is an artistic original.
