Here, we reviewed the survival patterns and population dynamics of plants growing on vertical cliffs and compared them to other plants with similar life forms that grow on the ground. To this end, we have usedtwo main sources,MONITO and COMPADRE, to collect243 populations of 134 plant species. Demographic studies have shown that rupicolous plants have higher survival rates, more stable population dynamics, and are closer to demographic equilibrium than plants in other habitats. We alsofound that the distance to equilibrium and temporal stability of the population correlated with the post-seedling stages. The results of this work suggest that plants living in vertical cliffs have a greater ability to cope with climatic variability than those living in other habitats
