La educación ambiental como estrategia para el turismo sostenible: Environmental education as a strategy for sustainable tourism

    La importancia de preservar el ambiente dentro del campo turístico es un área que se ha investigado con interés, producto de lo cual se dispone de información que ayuda a entender que el turismo es una actividad que demanda el uso de los recursos naturales, por lo cual deben ser correctamente manejados para minimizar la degradación del ambiente y el entorpecimiento de la sostenibilidad. Es por ello que, el presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo, destacar la importancia de la incorporación de la educación ambiental como estrategia para el turismo sostenible. En tal sentido se aplicó una metodología cualitativa, no experimental, fundamentada en una revisión documental, cuya información de carácter consultivo fue extraída a través de bases de datos como: Redalyc, Scielo, Dialnet y Google Scholar, con especial atención en estudios recientes. Del mismo modo, se incorporaron fuentes de tipo gubernamental y legislaciones ambientales que aportaron el aspecto legal a la investigación. Como resultado de la revisión se obtuvo que, la educación ambiental promueve una nueva relación de la humanidad con su entorno, especialmente porque sensibiliza y capacita al ser humano cambiando su comportamiento y generando un sentido de pertenencia hacia el ambiente. A partir de ello, se concluye que es de suma importancia que la educación ambiental sea incorporada como estrategia dentro del contexto turístico-educativo para garantizar un turismo sostenible en aquellos espacios que ofrecen una diversidad natural, a partir del desarrollo de valores, actitudes y habilidades que conlleven al ser humano a asumir una responsabilidad con el medio

    The importance of preserving the environment within the tourism field is an area that has been investigated with interest, as a result of which there is information that helps to understand that tourism is an activity that demands the use of natural resources, so they must be properly managed to minimize environmental degradation and hindering sustainability. That is why, this work aimed to highlight the importance of incorporating environmental education as a strategy for sustainable tourism. In this sense, a qualitative, non-experimental methodology was applied, based on a documentary review, whose advisory information was extracted through databases such as: Redalyc, Scielo, Dialnet and Google Scholar, with special attention to recent studies. In the same way, government sources and environmental legislation were incorporated that contributed the legal aspect to the investigation. As a result of the review, it was obtained that environmental education promotes a new relationship of humanity with its environment, especially because it sensitizes and empowers human beings by changing their behavior and generating a sense of belonging to the environment. From this, it is concluded that it is of utmost importance that environmental education is incorporated as a strategy within the tourist-educational context to guarantee sustainable tourism in those spaces that offer natural diversity, from the development of values, attitudes and skills that lead the human being to assume responsibility with the environment
