    Los objetivos generales del artículo son, en primer lugar, reconstruir el perfil social y la trayectoria iniciática de Ramón Cárcano, dirigente liberal cordobés y referente de la liga dominada por Miguel Juárez Celman durante la década de 1880. En segundo lugar, visibilizar algunas estrategias políticas, desarrolladas con el fin de ubicar en una posición dominante a la dirigencia juarista local del Partido Autonomista Nacional (PAN). La hipótesis de mi trabajo es que lo que distinguió a dicha dirigencia de sus opositores, a la par de una concepción laicista y liberal del Estado, fue una audacia política y económica sin precedentes en la provincia, la cual les permitió lograr una veloz inserción entre la dirigencia nacional del período.

    The general objectives of this article are, first, to reconstruct the social profile and initiatory trajectory of Ramón Cárcano, a liberal leader from Córdoba and a leading figure in the league dominated by Miguel Juárez Celman during the 1880s. Second, to shed light on some of the political strategies developed to establish a dominant position for the local Juárez leadership of the National Autonomist Party (PAN). The hypothesis of my work is that what distinguished this leadership from its opponents, alongside a secular and liberal conception of the state, was an unprecedented political and economic audacity in the province, which allowed them to quickly establish themselves among the national leadership of the period.
