We present part of the stucco decoration found in the thermal area of the Roman village of La Cocosa (Badajoz). The whole program consists of three male stucco heads, which do not show signs of individuality, but iconographic stereotypes poorly formally resolved. Together with these anthropomorphic motifs, a small number of fragments were found that could have been part of the decorative program of an ara or arula, an object that marks with its simple presence, more than any other, a place for worship. The chronology of these pieces, like the town, corresponds to the Late Antiquity (4th century), which is indicative of the survival of characteristic elements of Roman culture in the late Hispanic antiquity, although with an obvious transformation of the classical language.
