The fungus Aspergillus nidulans is one of the main species used as a reference for the study of the genetic and molecular mechanisms controlling fungal asexual development. Due to the patogenicity of some species from the genus Aspergillus or the industrial value of others, it is relevant to study the mechanisms controlling their development. In this work, the genome of the A. nidulans aconidial mutant (lacking asexual spores) FLIP57 was sequenced, the gene (An10640) including the mutation causing its phenotype identified and the role played by the putative cyclin FlpA in the production of conidiophores (asexual developmental structures) characterized.

Aspergillus nidulans onddoa modelo organismo nagusietako bat da onddo harizpitsuen ugalketa asexualaren kontrol genetiko eta molekularraren azterketan. Aspergillus generoko onddo batzuk patogenoak izanik eta beste batzuk industria mailan hainbat aplikazio dutenez, beren garapen eta ugalketaren kontrol genetikorako mekanismoak ezagutzea garrantzitsua da.
