El Enemigo Total. Una aproximación al pensamiento de Carl Schmitt bajo el signo del Tercer Reich (1931-1945)

    En este artículo nos proponemos aproximarnos a la etapa más polémica y menos revisitada de la obra del jurista alemán Carl Schmitt: aquella que se desarrolla durante el ascenso y caída del nazismo. Tomando en cuenta la adhesión del autor al gobierno nacionalsocialista, nos guían serie una de preguntas de investigación más amplias sobre la relación entre moral, derecho y política así como el interés por investigar los fundamentos jurídicos de gobiernos antiliberales. Nos interesa, a nivel más específico, explorar la tensión en la obra del jurista más importante del nazismo entre la configuración de un pluriverso de naciones, el ascenso de un Imperio alemán y la promoción del totalitarismo como forma verdadera de la democracia. Sin pretender lograr hacer una revisión exhaustiva o una filogenia de los conceptos schmittianos, o de sus interlocutores, buscamos observar de manera crítica los nudos argumentales en una serie de libros, artículos y conferencias realizadas por Carl Schmitt durante el ascenso, desarrollo y caída de la dictadura nacionalsocialista. Para eso, dividiremos nuestro trabajo en un primer apartado que reseñara algunas interpretaciones y abordajes sobre el uso de la obra del jurista alemán, para luego, en un segundo apartado, concentrarnos en los trabajos schmittianos aparecidos durante el período.

    In this article we propose an approach to the most controversial and least revisited stage of the work of the German jurist Carl Schmitt: that which takes place during the rise and fall of Nazism. Taking into account the author’s adherence to the National Socialist government, we are guided by a series of broader research questions about the relationship between morality, law and politics as well as the interest in investigating the legal foundations of illiberal governments. We are interested, at a more specific level, in exploring the tension in the work of the most important jurist of Nazism between the configuration of a pluriverse of nations, the rise of a German Empire and the promotion of totalitarianism as a true form of democracy. Without attempting to make an exhaustive review or a phylogeny of Schmitt’s concepts, or of his interlocutors, we seek to critically observe the plot points in a series of books, articles and conferences made by Carl Schmitt during the rise, development and fall of the National Socialist dictatorship. For this, we will divide our work into a first section that will outline some interpretations and approaches to the use of the work of the German jurist, and then, in a second section, we will concentrate on the Schmittian works that appeared during the period.
