In Trieste, the results of the interventions linked to the “bonus facades” have demonstrated the fragility of the Liberty decorative cements that characterize the elevations of early twentieth century architecture. The interventions, often inadequate, reflect the lack of recognition of their cultural value. This opens the discussion on the reasons for such not recognition and on the instruments for the protection and conservation of this cultural heritage.
