    En este trabajo se analiza, a partir de documentación inédita del archivo del Corregimiento guipuzcoano, la evolución de las operaciones de la que, desde al menos 1826, se ha considerado como la primera guerra civil española de la Edad Contemporánea. Es decir, la desarrollada durante los breves meses que siguen a la entrada del Ejército de los llamados "cien mil hijos de San Luis" que, enviado por las potencias vencedoras de Napoleón, tratan de restaurar a Fernando VII como monarca absoluto, derrocando militarmente al gobierno liberal instaurado en el año 1820 por medio del pronunciamiento de Cabezas de San Juan. Ese final del régimen liberal afectará y conmocionará a la sociedad donostiarra. Como no podía ser menos por su carácter de plaza fuerte fronteriza y por la fuerte impronta del partido liberal doceañista entre muchos de sus ciudadanos más influyentes, que, como miembros de la Milicia Nacional (es decir, como parte de la unidad paramilitar en la que se concentran, desde 1820 en adelante, aquellos dispuestos a defender con las armas en la mano el régimen constitucional) combatirán desesperadamente el avance del ejército de Angulema, batiéndose en retirada a lo largo de toda la cornisa cantábrica hasta Galicia.

    Using unpublished documents from the archive of the "Corregimiento" (Adminstrative Division) of Gipuzkoa, this paper analyses the evolution in the operations which, dating back to at least 1826, have been regarded as the first Spanish civill war in the modern era. In otherwords, the one that lasted a few months following the entry of the army of the so-called "hundred-thousand sons of Saint Louis". Troops sent by the powers that had defeated Napoleon to try to restore Ferdinand VII as the absolute monarch by militarily overthrowing the liberal government set up in 1820 by tje declaration of Cabezas de San Juan. This demise of the liberal regime was to affect and deeply shock the society of Donostia-San Sebastian. Owing to the town's character as a frontier stronghold and its strong imprint of the 1812 liberal party among many of its more influential citizens, it was inevitable that the citizens who were members of the National Militia (the paramilitary unit in which those in favour of taking up arms to defend the constitutional regime had been concentrated from 1820 onwards) should deesperately try to fight off the advance of the army of Angoulême, before beating a retreat across the length and breadth of th eCantabrian Coast all the way to Galicia

    Lan honetan, Gipuzkoako Korrejimentuko artxiboko agiri argitaragabeetan oinarrituta, 1826tik aurrera gutxienez, Espainiako lehen gerra zibil garaikidetzat jo izan den gerrako operazioen bilakaera aztertzen da. Hau da, "San Luisen Ehun Mila Semeen" armada sartu ondoren izan zena; Napoleon garaitu zuten potentziek bidalita, Fernando VII.a monarka absolutu gisa berrezarri nahi izan zuten, 1820an Cabezas de San Juan-go jazarraldiaren bidez ezarritako gobernu liberala militarki kenduz. Erregimen liberalaren amaiera horrek eragin bizi eta zirraragarria izan zuen donostiarren artean.
