  Nous étudions les pièces du recueil Théâtre sans animaux sous l’angle de l’humour.

  Méthodologiquement, nous définissons deux procédés qui jouent sur les effets d’incohérence: l’insolite et l’absurde. Nous étudions ensuite ces deux procédés et les effets qu’ils produisent dans le texte de Jean-Michel Ribes.

  Il est mis en évidence la spécificité de l’humour de Ribes qui articule l’insolite à l’absurde.

  The aim of this paper is to examine the role of humour in Théâtre sans animaux.

  Our approach is to define two forms of humour which play on the effects of incoherence: the unusual and the absurd.

  We then examine these two forms of humour and the effects which they produce in Jean-Michel Ribes’s text. We show the specificity of the humor of Ribes which articulates the unusual with the absurd.
