The Voragine's Legenda Aurea soon became one of the most widespread works of religious literature of the Middle Ages. The devotional value of this work became the source of writers and artists throughout Europe. The religious play also received the influence in the choice of topics and contents, and in this sense, it took advantage of the numerous hagiographic representations as a source. The case of the Mystery Play of Elche (fifteenth century) is no stranger to this factor. With this work, we mean to advance in the comparison that some authors like Alfons Llorenç began between the Legenda Aurea and the representation of Elche in a way more thorough, absorbing some of the things that have already been mentioned at the same time as we deepen the analysis.
