Principals característiques climàtiques des clot des Sero: Calvià, Mallorca

    Se presentan en este trabajo los resultados de una serie de mediciones de Temperatura y Humedad Relativa efectuadas desde el 6-XI-1988 hasta el 6-X-1991 en la cavidad kárstica denominada Es Clot des Sero (Calvia, Mallorca). Las temperaturas registradas en el fondo de la sima quedan comprendidas entre los valores extremos de 1,5O C (mínima invernal) y 16O C (máxima de verano), mientras que la humedad relativa se mantiene entre 88 % y 100 % aproximadamente. Estas especiales condiciones climáticas, que contrastan con la aridez del terreno donde se abre la cavidad, le permiten albergar una interesante comunidad de helechos y briófitas entre la que destaca la presencia de Phylliiis scolopendrium; siendo ésta la más meridional de las localidades mallorquinas de dicha especie.

    We are now presenting the results of a series of temperature and relative humidity measurements which have taken place in a karstic cavity known as Es Clot des Sero (in Calvia, Mallorca) from the 6th-November-88 to the 6th-October-91. The extreme temperature values recorded at the bottom of this collapse-pit are 1.5O C (winter minimum) and 16O C (sumrner maximum), while the relative humidity is that 88 % to 100 % approximately. All this confers some special climatic conditions that contrast with the aridity of the ground where the cave is placed; therefore it allows the appearance of an interesting community of ferns and bryophytes.

    Among these plants stands the fern Phyllitk scolopendrium, being Es Clot des Sero the southernmost locality where this specie is found in the island of Mallorca.
