This article attempts to critically explain how recent ICC case-law has impacted on the status and mandate of peacekeeping forces.
As to the status of peacekeepers, the analysiss focuses on some critical issues raised by the ICC Prosecution's investigation in the case of the crimes against peacekeepers in Georgia.
Second, the paper examines the extension of the peacekeeping mandate to cultural heritage protection and the role of the ICC findings in the Mali Situation.
Finally, in the spirit of sutainable peace and security, which cannot be achieved without justice, the article concludes on the ICC's adoption of peacekeeping issues to enhance its credibility, while suggesting more harmonious intersections and synergies with other international judicial organs in common domains of jurisdiction.
