    Las plataformas tecnológicas europeas fueron promovidas desde la Comisión Europea como forma de impulsar el desarrollo de los sectores industriales a través de la I+D+i, reuniendo en las mismas a empresas, organismos de investigación y clientes bajo el liderazgo industrial.

    El sector de la construcción promovió el lanzamiento de la Plataforma Europea ECTP a comienzos del verano del 2004 y a finales del mismo se puso en marcha la Plataforma Española PTEC. Tras ocho años, a principios de este año, PTEC estableció su Estrategia para el periodo 2013-2014 basada en:

    La internacionalización de la I+D+i en todos sus miembros, dentro del programa marco europeo Horizonte 2020 y fuera del mismo bajo programas bilaterales entre países, programas nacionales en terceros países, etc. Se interacciona con la Comisión Europea, CDTI, ECTP, ENCORD para fomentar esta internacionalización.

    El impulso a la innovación, conscientes que la investigación y el desarrollo deben conducir a una mayor competitividad del sector de la construcción a través de la innovación. Iniciativas como la compra pública de tecnología innovadora, estrategias acerca de la validación y explotación de la innovación, etc. son aspectos contemplados por PTEC.

    La mejora de la imagen del sector a través de la I+D+i contribuyendo a su difusión mediante foros y eventos y la web de PTEC.

    La renovación de los miembros de PTEC. Actualmente, PTEC está formada por unos 100 miembros (empresas, universidades, centros de investigación y centros tecnológicos). Además, participan en calidad de invitados permanentes el Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (Dirección General de Innovación y Competitividad y CDTI) y el Ministerio de Fomento (ADIF, CEDEX y Puertos del Estado).

    La interacción entre empresas y organismos de investigación se promueve a través de:

    Grupos de trabajo GT que se reúnen cada dos meses en áreas sobre Infraestructuras del transporte, la ciudad del futuro y los procesos de construcción.

    Iniciativas I+D+i que surgen de estas reuniones de los GT.

    Foros de debate con miembros de la PTEC no adscritos a los GT y otros interesados en la I+D+i pertenecientes a los sectores público y privado. En 2013, se celebraron Foros sobre la I+D+i en infraestructuras del transporte por superficie, la I+D+i para la ciudad del futuro, la internacionalización de la I+D+i y uno orientado a la incorporación de las PYMES a este proceso a través de las asociaciones.

    The European Technological Platforms were promoted by the European Commission in order to push the development of the industrial sectors through the R&D, sitting together companies, research organizations and clients under the industrial leadership. The construction sector launched the European Platform ECTP (www.ectp.org) and the Spanish Platform PTEC (www.plataformaptec.es), before and after summer 2004, respectively.

    After eight years of life, at the beginning of this year, PTEC established the Strategy for the period 2013-2014 based on:

    The internationalization of the R&D in all the members, inside the Framework Programme Horizon 2020 and outside of this programme through bilateral programs between countries, national programs in third countries, etc. Interaction is being carried out with the European Commission, CDTI, ECTP, ENCORD (www.encord.org) to promote this internationalization.

    The impulse to the innovation, knowing that research and development have to drive to a greater competitiveness of the construction sector through the innovation.

    Initiatives like the public purchase of innovative technology, strategies about the validation and exploitation of the innovation, etc. are being taken into account by PTEC.

    The improvement of the image of the sector through the R&D contributing to its diffusion by means of forums and events, the web of the PTEC, etc.

    The renewal of PTEC members. At present, PTEC is formed by some 100 members (companies, universities and research centers). Besides, the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through the General Direction of Innovation and Competitiveness, and the CDTI and the Ministry of Public Works through ADIF, CEDEX and Ports of the State participates as permanent invited members.

    The interaction between companies and research organizations is promoted through:

    Working Groups that meet each two months in areas on Transport Infrastructures, the City of the Future and the Construction Processes.

    R&D initiatives through R&D projects in consortium that arise from these WG meetings Forums of debate with PTEC members no ascribed to the WGs and other interested participants in the R&D from public and private sectors. In 2013, four Forums have been celebrated on R&D in surface transport infrastructures, on R&D for the city of the future, on the internationalization of the R&D and one oriented to the SMEs involvement through the associations.

    This communication will summarizes the main PTEC initiatives.
