La educación online como nuevo modelo de formación y aprendizaje

    El desarrollo de nuevos modelos de formación a distancia y online han contribuido a ampliar la red formativa de instituciones de educación superior existente en el ámbito educativo. Si bien hasta la fecha la enseñanza presencial se ha consolidado como la más común y accesible para gran parte de la demanda educativa, los modelos semipresenciales y virtuales se están abriendo camino con el objeto de poder dar una respuesta a la creciente demanda de formación que nos encontramos día sí y día también.

    El constante auge de este nuevo modelo de enseñanza responde, según algunos autores, a una doble perspectiva que integra un punto de vista económico, puesto que mediante la educación online se ahorran costes en infraestructuras y otros gastos, mientras que los ingresos procedentes de tasas como matrículas u otros conceptos pueden sustentar y financiar a la institución educativa, y creativo, ya que se trata de un nuevo modelo educativo de formación (Sancho y Alemany, 2004).

    En este artículo vamos a describir las características del modelo de teleformación, formación virtual o e-learning, así como sus ventajas e inconvenientes, aportando ejemplos de instituciones de formación que lo llevan a cabo, así como una experiencia personal en una de ellas

    The development of new approaches of online and distance learning have contributed to expand the training network of existing institutions of higher education in the field of education. Until the date presential teaching has been consolidated and become more common and accessible to most of the educative demand, semipresential and virtual models are finding their way in order to be able to respond to the growing demand for training that we find day in and day out.

    The steady rise of this new teaching model answers, according to some authors, a dual perspective that integrates an economic point of view, because online education saves on infrastructure costs and other expenses, while income from tuition fees or other fees can support and fund the institutions, and creative, because it is a new educational model training (Sancho and Alemany, 2004).

    In this article we will describe the features of the e-learning or virtual learning, and their advantages and disadvantages with examples of training institutions which carries them out, and also a personal experience of one of them.
